I too am a former cutter and all, but I'm not sure about how to get rid of the scars on your own. But I have read on a site somewhere that if you massages a moisturizer on to the scar repeatedly that it will go away, eventually, but I gave up on it seeing as my scars have faded, thankfully although it's because the scars that i won't get tan because i don't want to make them more visible. As for the home remedies for healing cuts, I've heard salt works, or a salt and water solution and also honey works too, than again honey has many useful purposes too. but I've never used the salt idea though, I used to use lemon juice. I can't say 100% sure that it really worked, but I thought it did, now I just uses the Dragon Mist Spray that my piercer gave me for my piercings and it works amazingly, and it even helps it heal with a smaller, less noticible scar.

The scars are there for life, unless you go to a cosmetic surgeon. If the deep cuts are still open, you shouldn't be swimming, or you'll risk an infection. If they're still open, you should have them treated by a medical professional.
