Come over and have a look; do give me warning though, I'll have to shovel up some of the mess or else just what would you think of me.

i don't know why they go on i couldn't live the way these people do i mean sometimes i dont feel like getting up and cleaning either but i still do it anyway because you just need to have a clean house it must take years for houses to get that bad. i hate clutter and mess i'll never understand how people let things get to that stage.

It is a programme of utter grossness. I don't particularly like cleaning; I am 54 years old, work 37 hours a week and devote my Saturday's to cleaning my house. I just couldn't live in muck and squalor. I believe in clearing the clutter and this makes for a more healthy and serene life.

I can't understand how people can live like that, there's a huge difference between messy and filthy.
How can homes get so filthy that people don't notice? the smell must be awful.
The worst are the people with pets that let them mess everywhere and don't clean it up, shuddering just thinking about it, it's disgusting.

How many times have I wondered the exact same thing? Why would you want your filth exposed to others? I mean, I remember one episode that was about a chef. Later, she opened her own restaurant. Well, great, but after seeing the show and witnessing her mess, who in their right mind would want to eat there? I will confess to loving that show, though. It makes me feel better about my own messy place to realize that it can get a lot worse!

I know. I watch that show and see those houses and its like O M G !!!! I would be humiliated to even let my face be seen and connected to that house. I think the producers come in and make sure it's "really messy" though to be dramatic, so that way when they do clean it up, its a remarkable difference.

I would think so. Who in their right mind would want anyone to know how messing the can be. But the things is that, people enjoy watching others made a fool of themselves. It's sad.

I think a lot of them have OCD and disorders that cause them to hoard, then everything gets out of control & they feel hopeless to find a place to even start. I bet, if they'd revisit these places in several months, many would be all messed up again. It's a tough pattern to break.

Perhaps, I don't watch it...I guess I'm too busy cleaning my own house...but anything for entertainment value gets slapped on the TV these days

I like to keep mine sparkling as much as I can. It doesn't always work out that way, but it's never filthy. I know some people just don't care though, and they don't have a problem with living in filth. I call them rednecks.
