The religious and spiritual books written by True Saints and their followers like The Bible, Bhagwad Gita, Sree Guru Granth Sahib, The Quran are with experience. and preach only THE TRUTH! The prophets who have written them or their successors preach the same TRUTH-I believe them only! And experience gained by practising their teachings guides to the Truth itself! So, whatever religion, holy book preaches and teaches The Truth is the Reality and should be believed!
It is a matter of Faith who believes whom?

I believe in direct experience. Nothing is greater than this. But it is good to study the books and listen to the prophets, that will only enhance our knowledge. Though it's not easy But true wisdom can be only acquired by our self realisation.

Have you learn the Bible? In exact this passage from the New Testament: one million Cor. 12: three: Wherefore I supply you to appreciate, that no guy speakme through the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no guy can say that Jesus is the Lord, however through the Holy Ghost. It sounds plenty like soliciting for an reply via prayer and it's in The Bible. I consider you must take a step again and seem at it from a further viewpoint. Most Christians in trendy international are lazy and mind useless relating to this subject and be given the Bible on religion on my own and feature performed little to no study at the Bible or its historical past. What are you fairly pronouncing? That the Mormons are doing whatever mistaken through looking for an reply via prayer. If you think comfy with that stance then I questions your explanations.

I believe in all that which makes sense to me irrespective of the popular opinion. Books are a source of information & knowledge based on experience from the time immemorial. Prophets/gurus....they also give good teachings. I remember what appeals to me but yes I cant treat them as God....nopes, never.
Direct experience is no doubt always the best. We cant understand the true meaning unless explored by our own efforts. There is a saying in Hindi, I dont remember it clearly.... something like....doosro ke martey, swarg nahin dikhta....holds a good logic.

We can not know the Absolute truth by direct perception. Our senses are limited Such as we can see the sun, but we are limited by our eye site, as to what the sun truly is. We can read some scenic books on the sun and know more, but If we really want to know the Sun then we have to learn by Guru,(Spiritual Master) Sadu (saintly persons) and Shastra (scriptures) They all must be in alignment to understand Truth. We can actually see, by hearing from the bonafide representative of God who is in a pure disciplic succession. I see through the eyes of Bhaktivedanta Prabhupadas books. Now my seeing is becoming clear.

I read books for inspiration, but that doesn't mean every book has the right answer. On the whole, it is my own direct experience and the experience of others that I know.
Edit: it's experience as well as observation.

I do read books to expand my comprehension so that I understand spiritual lecture in right perspective. But I do relate to my personal experience and then draw conclusion as to the speech and look for a wise way out and not entirely believe what the orator said. he is also human being and he speaks according to his own experience. His word is not universal truth as yug change values also change and we develop with our yug only. As we r living in kaliyug we cannot maintain standard of satyug. That is why I like lord Krishana who is adaptable.

I " believe " in all three as all have something to share for growth. Yet, " my own direct experiences " have served me best. Second would be books...third is prophets. I don't come across " prophets " as such in my day to day life...mostly read of them...And, most certainly experience their teachings with my soul...thus experience.

Experience is life's greatest teacher, but that can also encompass what is read in books or taught by gurus or prophets. Direct experience, of course, gives the greatest clarity.
