After centuries of living together, there are many words we use commonly. Turkish, like all languages, has taken words from Greek, and then in Greek we use some words from Turkish, usually everyday words, not official words, as the official word is the ancient Greek one. For example, we use the words yapi, duvar, ocak (tzaki) and other words related with construction, but we only use it in a construction site environment, we would write the Greek words for them (oikodomh, toixos, estia, etc.). we also have many words in common related with food (dolma, aginar, lavrak, etc.). And we must also distinguish teh words which are Greek, were used in turkish, and returned to Greek with their Turkish form (difthera-->tefter-->tefteri, or hippodrome-->bodrum-->budrumi)

I don't know turkish, but I know that all the languages of the world have taken greek words. And these greek words become international words.

For example, in French, we have words such as : technologie, ethnie, giratoire, philosophie, pathologie,démocratie,etc...

This site is the best. A very good friend (Turk) gave to me before 3 days. I can confirm that the most of those words are used even now.
