Break the whole job down some by listing all the steps you need to do - it might not seem so overwhelming that way. Then get started on just the first step, and go from there. Putting it off isn't going to make it better.

1. At some point you are going to have to express your concerns about being over worked with your supervisor. When you go to him/her, try to have some possible solutions in mind. Try to be as positive about your job when you speak with your supervisor.
2. Since payroll deadline is near, ask for help or stay late and get there early to get it done. Since it sounds like that is your responsibility, you have to make it happen. Plus, people are depending on you.
3. In the future, try to delegate some of your responsibilities to others who can handle them. If someone tries to give you their work, be kind but decline. Just let them know that you would like to help them, but you just do not have the time.
4. Look for another job. Ask friends if they have any leads. Check the internet, newspaper, employment office, and so forth. Then apply.
5. Do something you enjoy to reward yourself for getting that payroll completed on time.
Hope this helps and God bless.

Sorry, no good advice - just take it in steps. Work hard for 1/2 hour then take a little 10 minute break.
While figuring out something else is fine for later, sounds like you need this done NOW - so, not to be mean, get off Y!Answers and do it ... (Payroll is one thing that if it isn't done RIGHT & on TIME - EVERYONE freaks out.)
Best of luck!

The best advice I can give you is take a deep breathe, decide if you want to changejobs, and take it from there.
If you decide you want to change jobs, do the best you can at the current job while also looking for another.
Sometimes the workplace sucks majorly. You shouldn't feel trapped and depressed at work.
Find another job, and just do what you need to do at the current. Once you find another job that suits you, the pressure and anxiety will go away :o)
