I need some ideas; little money - and I'm not very creative! My son already gives him coloring book pages all the time and we already have a ton of pictures that we took a month ago so I need some new ideas. Thanks!

Using paint put his footprints on a piece of card stock (or you could use canvas) towards the bottom of the page. Then write with a permanent marker the following poem:

"Walk a little slower, Daddy",
Said a little child so small.
"I'm following in your footsteps,
And I don't want to fall.

Sometimes your steps are very fast,
Sometimes they're hard to see;
So walk a little slower Daddy,
For you are leading me.

Someday when I'm all grown up,
You're what I want to be;
Then I will have a little child
Who'll want to follow me.

And I would want to lead just right,
And know that I was true;
So, walk a little slower, Daddy.
For I must Follow you."

At the bottom write Love, ___________ June 2007

Put it in a frame to hang on a wall. My little girl did this when she was three. It brought my husband to tears and he is not a tear jerker!!

Here's something we used to make. On a sheet of paper (about computer sized, but a little thicker), write something about how he is small now, but won't always be. Make it sound like he is writing it (in the first person). Then, get a little bit of poster paint (whatever your son's favorite color is). Have him dip the palms of his hands in the paint, and then CAREFULLY put his hands on the paper. When he takes his hands off, there will be a handprint. This is an easy and cheap way to give a special gift. Send me an email if you need clarification.

Frame it if you want, but you don't need to.

I love the hand prints and foot prints idea. There is nothing more priceless and so wonderful to look back on in the years to come. You can buy cheap molds, or paint. Then add some cute shots of daddy and toddler and off you go. Great keepsake. :)

Find pics of your son and his dad together cut them into different shapes. Get a large picture frame. In the center place a hand print of you son and write around it #1 dad or worlds best dad something like that. Put the pis of your son and his dad around that and put it in a frame. My daughter did that for her dad and he said it was the greatest gift he ever got. He has it hanging on the wall for everyone to see.

You can make picture frames for the pictures you already have, you could glue Popsicle sticks together and let your child paint them, cut out a cardboard frame and glue things on that remind you child of his father, use felt or those colored Styrofoam pads from the craft section of your store, just cut out the middle and let your child decorate the. then tape of glue the picture in (that's the easiest way) You can us thumbtacks to hang them on the walls, fashion stands out of cardboard or glue magnetic strips on the back of them to hang on the fridge.

For Daddy's birthday, we bought a white mug style coffee cup and some acrylic paint, and spray on clear coat (non toxic) all available at Walmart - I let my little girl paint the cup - LOL... then, painted her hand, put her hand on the cup to make a handprint, then painted the year and her name... On the other side, I wrote Daddy - I love you for her... let the paint dry, then clear coat... it worked well, and cost about $7.
