if i was christian and was in love, i would want to get married so i could have sex with my partner. but then you're stuck with them forever because you're married. wouldn't it be better to have premarital sex than marry just so you can have sex?

and i realize that you don't marry JUST so you can have sex, but when you really want sex, you're more willing to get married i would think.

We live in a culture that demands satisfaction now. So, it would make sense that if you want to have sex, then just have it outside of marriage.

However, Christians believe that sex should only happen in the context of marriage - that God designed it that way. This is the reason - when we marry, God brings us together as "one." Sex is a most intimate act and a consumation and representation of this new "oneness." If we have sex outside of marriage, we are taking this "bringing together as one" into our own hands with someone we may or may not marry.

To us, sex is not only an incredibly enjoyable act - its also incredibly holy, something blessed and created by God with a special purpose and a special meaning. In western society today, its simply just the first thing I mentioned - an enjoyable, fun thing, taking the sacredness out of it.

It takes discipline to wait, and it can be very hard. The apostle Paul says that if you can't hold out, then by all means, marry.

But in the end, the Christian should be able to be disciplined and hold out on the temporary satisfaction of sex and wait to enjoy it for all that it entails (physically, emotionally AND spiritually) within the confines of marriage.

I waited until I was married. I don't have a single regret. And even before I married, I wasn't regretting my decision to wait. In the context of marriage, sex has so much more meaning. Its awesome.

Sadly I have actually known some Christian couples who got married because they were horny and now have terrible relationships. How on earth is being stuck in a lousy marriage better than just having premarital sex?

I have had sex with loads of women and I am glad i didn`t marry any ot them what a terrible thought. It does not mention marriage as Adam and Eve were not married, it is a pagan tradition the church use it to keep control and enslave people . Calling sex sin is like calling nature sin as God is nature these idiots are perverting the purity of love.

In Phils may be, but most people here in Europe aren't practicing enough to stay "pure"
