(Just no) Not that some one who works for nissan would be the first to know. Were already seeing the 2008 Altima and Altima coupes and trucks have not heard about any V-8 maxima's< We'll get the Rogue next new crossover SUV Thing. Auto Week, Motor Trend and Road and Track would have been all over Nissan V-8 Maximas I take three auto publications And work for Nissan over 20 years

This would be highly unlikely---given that

1) The Maxima is a FWD car with a 3.5 L V6 engine that is already quite powerful and pretty much at the limits of the current platform due to the torque steer characteristic when one accelerates hard on it. I think putting a V8 engine would necessitate a RWD car, which would require an extensive redesign, which is not likely,.

2) Similarly, I think Nissan would put such a V8 engine in its Infiniti lineup (which it is doing with the M and Q series cars) rather than try to cannibalize Infini sales with a V8 powered Maxima, which doesn't sound feasible for the reasons mentioned above in (1).
