We have 2 single person restrooms(for both men and women) at my work. I was walking towards the restroom but my head down because I was thinking about something. I then walked into one of the restrooms, closed the door, and then locked it. When I turned around, one of my co-workers was sitting on the toilet doing her business. She didn't scream, yell or anything like that. We just looked at each other like a deer caught in a headlight!. It felt like a lifetime in there but I'm sure I hurried to get my *** out of there.

What am I going to do? Am i in trouble? Will she be upset and report me? Will she sue me? I am really paranoid now, she was hot too!

I had this happen to me once. It was only embarassing because I knew the guy had a thing for me but I accepted a heart apology and let it slide. She should have locked the door and you really should have knocked. Who knows, it may have been an emergency for both of you. Just apologize once, sound sincere, and leave it at that.

Chill out. You aren't in trouble. I don't know how many times I've walked in on someone or someone has done it to me. I simply say 'someone's in here' and they apologize and leave or stop trying to open the door. You should be fine. She was probably surprised as you were and didn't know what to do or say. It's not like she could GET UP and escort you out. Haha. Don't worry about it. However, next time--knock before you enter just to be sure.

Relax! It was a mistake. You did not do anything to her, right?

If you are worried about sexual harassment, dont. Typically, there has to be a pattern of abuse/harassing, and unless you have done something to her in the past, there is not cause.

Make sure you apologise to her and let it go. The two of you may get a good laugh out of it. Maybe ask her out for a drink to thank her for not freaking out.

Apologise once, then leave it - I doubt any case she did try to bring to a court will actually be taken seriously.

"I left the toilet door unlocked and this God-awful man didn't automatically know I was in there!"

Apologize profusely; that's all you can do.

One wonders why she didn't lock the door...but everyone makes a mistake every now and then.

I would suggest knocking on the door in the future, as well.

Seek her out, let her know that you're sorry and even a little embarrassed, then ask her out because she is hot!
