One of my coworkers just told me he heard of a big name Water supplier that got busted for using tap water. Is this a rumor or is this true. If so do you know what company? Thanks.

It's true. The distiction lies in the labelling. If it says "Spring Water", then its source should have been a natural spring. But if it's just bottled water, then, yeah, it could be City of Poughkeepsie water that's been run thru a filtering system to remove odors & tastes, like chlorine.

Actually quite a lot of bottled waters are only filtered tap water. Many of them state this on their labels so unless the company in question was claiming that it was spring water, they probably weren't really "busted" as you put it.

A lot of companies do this. Sometimes they do a little extra filtering. The only requirement for bottled water is that it is put into a bottle.,
