Not too me. I find that chickens raised free range are healthier chickens. Those that are raised in cages do not exercise or get as good of nutrition as those raised outside. A chicken outside will eat the feed given to it along with whatever it can catch or find. That chicken gets more nutrients and protein. The end result is that the free range chicken makes for a better meal.

The trouble is that free range can mean so many things. You get visuals or animals roaming free in the outdoors but usually they are still cooped up in great numbers in a barn, just not in individual cages within them.
Vegetarians cannot preach at meat eaters for being cruel when the dairy industry is just as cruel and promotes so much suffering. Cows kept pregnant all year to generate milk... chicks gasses at birth as they are no use to the farmer etc. etc.

No, because you're not eating the chicken because you want it to have a perfect life, you're eating free range so the meat tastes better and doesn't smell like a fart.....As did the chicken that pushed me completely into vegetarianism.
I think you have misunderstood the idea of "free-range".
Read about it and you will probably want to eat that kind of meat as well.

No, quality of life still counts even when death is an inevitability. The fact that we kill animals for food doesn't signify a desire for them to be ill treated during their lives. Do you honestly think free range poultry are aware of their impending doom? No! So let them be happy while they can.

Free range is a worry when people buy eggs. Egg laying hens aren't slaughtered, they live for the function of laying eggs and not to become meat.

NO because chickens that are "comercialy raised" are fed antibiotics and other toxic drugs such amphetamines to keep them alive in such horrific conditions. People that seek out "free range chickens" do so less out of care for the chicken but care for what goes in their mouths. Think about it.

No, because if one makes the decision to eat animals or animal by-products one has the duty to ensure that said animals haven't lived lives of suffering and trauma.
What I DO find ironic is the angry, militant veggies/vegans (not ALL veggies and vegans, just the guilt pusher ones), who refuse to eat animals or use animal by-products simply because they "love the animals". If everyone became vegan do these people honestly think cows, sheep etc would survive as species? If there is no use for them, they would not be bred. I can't see farmers having fields of cows or sheep simply because they loved them, do you?
