First off, I don't believe in a literal lake of fire as the scriptural Hell. Scheol is the abode of the dead awaiting the Resurrection. Here they are purged of their sins and learn to forgive themselves. Only after they'd been completely purged can they go to the Final Judgment and be told of their eternal fate.

I don't believe in the false dichotemy of Heaven and Hell, either. I think there are many gradients or degrees between the two. You find those with whom you are comfortable (birds of a feather) and stick with them. That naturally separates the undesirable elements of society from the good people of the earth. Even among the salt of the earth people will further subdivide themselves based on moral values and interests.

God does not send innocent people in hell.

I assume you mean the idea that all non Christians go to hell. The Catholic Church does not teach this.

The church teaches such things as Natural Law - that is our conscience. As long as it is well formed.

Then there is the New Law. The law of the Gospels. Salvation through Christ Jesus.

When someone is chased away from God by a Christian, that Christian has a greater sin than the individual who turned away from the church.

When someone has never known Christianity, such as indigenous people, they are called Pre-Gospel. As in 'before' they knew the Good News.

Which means if they follow the natural law they still have a darn good chance of being saved by the grace of God.

In the bible, Jesus says to the religious leaders of his day that sinners and prostitutes would attain heaven before them.

There is always a chance. God's will is not so much for us to know.

Two trends in the answers are laughable.
One is the callous dismissiveness arising out of deluded self-righteousness. The other is a kind of denial. If, as some of the more athletic Christians claim, only those that "accept Jesus" can be saved from hell and damnation, then how can they pretend there will be no innocents in hell? Unless the implicit claim is that only Christians CAN be moral, and therefore "innocent." If this is their case, they are worse than deluded.

I don't believe in the same kind of hell as other christians do. I believe that if you never had a chance to hear and accept God's plan, then there is no reason for you to go to hell. I don't believe that hell is an actual place, but a state of mind. It isn't until judgment that anyone would be in hell anyway. Until then, they are learning and growing more. They will have the opportunity to hear God's plan and to accept it in their own time.

Innocent my eye. The bible says, "ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." "There is none righteous, not even one."

This does not exclude Christians. The one difference is that our sins have been forgiven and covered by the blood of our savior, Jesus Christ . This is the only way out of "hell fire".

Sadly, many people reject or even more sadly, never even hear about the all forgivging savior. Those are the ones you mentioned. That is why Jesus told us Christians to "Go out into the world and preach the good news to all creation."

And that is what I will do with my life.

The thought of it is truly frightening, I agree. But the thought of it only gives me reason to fear God and keep his commandments. Yes I mess up but I try to repent as quickly as possible most of the times. I still have to admit to the truth. We have choices, Free will. I just hope my free will doesn't lose it's mind again, it has many times in my life, and through the grace of God I don't end up there. It's really hard for me to walk the right path sometimes, but I won't stop trying, and I think that thats all God really ask of us. Just don't give up. Keep praying that we become more and more like him everyday. And I don't think God sends innocent people to Hell.

None are innocent, You say they are, But God..who by-the-way Overrides you and your beliefs and philosophy, says otherwise.

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Rom 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

So those who (You say) are innocent that are burning in hell would not be burning in hell if they were not guilty, accept it

There aren't any innocent people burning in hell fire. All who are there are guilty.

"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23)

And

"There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit." "The poison of vipers is on their lips." "Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness." "Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 ruin and misery mark their ways, and the way of peace they do not know." "There is no fear of God before their eyes." (Romans 3:10-18)

useful Christians could desire to admit they do no longer understand each and all of the solutions, and maximum, when you consider that they do no longer examine the unique textual content textile interior the unique language and context, could be undertaking to misinterpretation. What i understand, as a useful Christian, is that Christ got here to coach us the thank you to stay. The Bible is a e book approximately community and there are actual solid evidences that communities that deserted God have been subjected to destruction (which includes Isreal whilst they rejected God). there is likewise data of God's promise to maintain that united states and is obvious interior the incontrovertible fact that the Jewish united states survives right this moment regardless of intense persecutions. Many words are used interior the unique Bible language for Hades, Sheol, and Gahena(sp?). they have distinctive meanings interior the context of that day. The word maximum ordinarily translated to hell replaced into Gahena, which replaced into the valley exterior Jerusalem the place the refuse replaced into burned. the hearth burned continually and the refuse replaced into fed on by capacity of the flames. interior the NT it says dying and Hades would be forged into this ingesting hearth and could no longer exist. i think of the thought-approximately eternal torture replaced into invented by capacity of the church later. in all probability by capacity of the comparable church that theory they mandatory to bypass to conflict to stress human beings to grow to be Christians (ie. Crusades, Inquisition, and so on). so some distance as i'm in contact, that replaced into the worst element that ever befell for Christianity or any faith and is SOOO some distance from what Christ taught that those human beings could desire to, in no way, be referred to as Christian. The Bible says that Christ died for the sins of all and that his blood covers the sins of the international, yet i assume you nevertheless could desire to settle for that present to get it. have confidence me however, God won't stress anybody who willfully rejects Him to spend eternity with Him. do no longer understand in case you get a raffle to alter your thoughts (repent) whilst the judgement comes and you're status before Him. do no longer think of God's going to spend all eternity punishing people who rejected Him the two, yet possibly he will. i'm no longer God so i are not getting to return to a selection. Is that useful sufficient for you?

I agree completely. I don't see how premarital sex or envy are crimes so heinous, God would torture them forever. Anyone who teaches such a doctrine is worshiping a brutal dictator. Even dictators torture their victims for a finite amount of time. Their God tortures people forever.
