Just a good quality vanilla ice cream and whole milk will give you a great vanilla milkshake. Extract is definitely not needed. I like to use vanilla bean ice cream. Try some malt powder for a vanilla malt.

vanilla ice cream ( about 1/2 a box), 1 tablespoon vanilla extract, 4 tablesspoons of sugar, about 3-4 cups of milk, all in the blender, and blend until well blended and smooth. Pour into a glass and pop in a straw and enjoy. My version. Hope you like it.

If you want it to be incredibly strong, put in a tablespoon of the extract. If you just want a normal, smooth milkshake, then vanilla ice cream and milk will do.
