I heard we're supposed to drink something like eight glasses a day, but I'm probably drinking about two. I just don't feel thirsty. I say "do nothing" because I'm currently revising for exams, so I just sit around working with my laptop or notes. Should I be making myself drink more?

Eight glasses still applies to you even if you do nothing. But also drinking other fluids helps, except those with caffiene. Water is best because other drinks have sugar and electrolytes that would dehydrate you if you had too much in you bloodstream, but if you drink those and don't need the sugars or electrolytes then your body will only absorb the water.

Eight glasses of water is the minimum anyone would need to maintain optimum health. If you have an active life, you would need to increase that amount.

The brain benefits from water as it is mostly water. So it will benefit you in studies. If you feel a headache from too much water, (this is due to toxins in the body) you can spread your eight glasses throughout the day instead of taking it all at once.

You get 1/2 of the water you need from the foods you eat. If you drink 8 glasses in one day. it shocks your body if that's not what it's used to. Besides, you constantly have to pee. so don't believe EVERYTHING you hear.....just this.

you definitely need to drink more. the human body requires a MINIMUM of 2 liters of water a day to simply function efficiently. More if you are heavily active.
