This is a cut and dry issue. You're either with God, or you're against him. Agreed?

What about those that worship the God and Goddess? Those are definitely deities, and therefore those that worship them cannot be called atheists.

This is a cut and dry issue. You're an idiot. Agreed?

No one is not? Faith is the answer, but this is not a cut and dry issue...as long as there is life there is hope!

Atheist or not does not matter to God, remember Saul and name change to Paul anything is possible with God!

Saul was firm in his believe and he thought he was right in destroying Christians and was fierce in his declaration against the people of God. Jesus deals with us.

Disagree. Strongly, in fact. For one thing, you are limiting believers to monotheists, which is unjustified. Polytheists and pantheists would not use the expression "one true God," but they are believers, not atheists.

And that "with him or against him" schtick has been the cause of much grief throughout history, in politics as well as religion. "If you're not part of the solution, you are part of the problem," and so on so forth. Does not leave room for those who are indifferent, or undecided, or neutral in any other sense.

How can you be AGAINST something you do not believe exists? Atheists are not really against God, they simply do not believe he/she/it/they exist. Might be said to be against the idea of God, but that's clearly different.

Not necessarily... it is a very complicated topic.

For instance one could argue that the Brahman in Hinduism is an alternative vision of the "one true God." But most folks of a fundamentalism bent would probably refuse to acknowledge Hindu worship as having any licit character, or accept that Brahma reflects God.

So for them, a Hindu would not be an atheist; but neither would they perceive Hindus as worshipping the "one true God."

No.

An atheist is someone who believes in NO God. Read; zero, nada, niente, nihil ...

Let's make this clear;

Atheism: 0 Gods

Monotheism: 1 God

Polytheism: 2 or more Gods.

SOOOO Anyone who chooses to believe in more than one God, instead of what you call the "one true God", they would still NOT be Atheists.

Nothing in this answer to agree or not agree on, because it's the pure and simple truth.

atheist : one who believes that there is no deity
theist: belief in the existence of a god or gods

If you do not believe that there IS a God, then you're an atheist. If you believe in one or more god, regardless of your religion, i.e., Hinduism, Judaism, Christianity, then you are not an atheist but a theist

Wrong, under your definition a polytheist would be an atheist. An atheist belives there is not god/gods. A ploytheist believes there are multiple gods.

Uh... no? Newsflash, there are thousands of religions, and many of them have gods other than the Christian one. They believe in a god (or in some cases, many gods), so by definition, they are not Atheist. It doesn't matter if you believe their gods are real or not, they do. You do not have the authority to change the definition of a word.

First of all how doyou know there is only one true god? So basically if you don't believe in any gods than you are an atheist.

You are confusing opinion with fact.

You can believe something very deeply and sincerely. But that does not make it true in and of itself, nor does it make it necessarily true for anyone else.

I love my dog. I think he is the cutest, smartest, best dog in the world. But to some people, he is ugly and smelly. To others he is scary. To yet others he is a potential source of food.

Whose opinion is correct?

The fact is: each opinion is 'correct.'

It all depends on perspective.
