He isn't, we are.

Bush is a LAME DUCK and most likely has lost his mental faculties due to the burdensome shame of his own failures and betrayal of conservative ideals. He is all about satisfying the greed of his elitist supporters.

This is just evidence of Obama's inexperience. The governor of Texas requested more troops because the situation is still out of control. So what does Obama do? Oh, we'll look at it. All the liberals went crazy about Hurricane Katrina and it was all Bush's fault for not sending in the national guard earlier. So why is this different? You have drug cartels coming across the border killing civilians. Obama is an amateur. This could be part of that test which Joe Biden was referring to before. You don't tread lightly in this situation. You need to act swiftly and show these drug dealers...and the world...that we don't put up with crap like this. You kill our civilians, we kill you. Next?

The president has clearly changed course where illegal immigration is concerned. Sadly, he has succumbed to the pressure put on him by congress and public opinion. Monies have already been allocated to finish building 600+ miles of border fence, yet only 3 miles are completed. It is now neccesary to mobilize the National Guard to protect our borders against unlawful people. And, yes our border patrol agents are being restrained and sometimes punished in performing their duties, but you can equally blame an apathetic public and agenda-driven media for this. Cries of "racism" put the president in a no-win position. It is evident that the left-wing interests in both the Senate and House Of Representatives care more about the rights of illegals than that of U.S. citizens. I fear for the children of future generations.

Because he knew this was going to happen all along, and he is going to need a fresh pool of people to replenish the military with when everyone who is tired of his BS doesn't re-enlist.

The process of charging any solider for "hurting a poor Mexican illegally crossing the border" is ridiculous. What the hell is the point of putting them down there then? If aliens get hurt that is the chance they took committing a crime. No wonder people are beginning to question this country's processes.

the answer is he really doesn't care about border security and neither do any of the othe politicians, they already passed a bill to allocate money for a fence/wall whatever but that money is just sitting there rather than getting started.

Bush could have put the national guard on the border buy why would he do such a thing to his old buddies, they are the ones that sheltered him from real military service so he owes them 8 years of favors.

I'm a long time republican who's starting to turn on Bush, he's been a lame duck for his entire 2nd term.

Because it would be unrealistic to put troops on the border when the people are only crossing it. Iraq is a mistake and we know it, but to pull out and then put troops on the border would be absurd, and a waste of money.

I'm sure he'd like to but their all kind of busy right now dying in in Iraq and Afghanistan and protecting the South Korean border from the North Koreans.

You sound like a typical misinformed American. By all means, let's declare war on Mexico! While we're at it, let's also drop our shorts and bend over for the next 9-11 while that goes on. Border agents are being punished because ambulance-chasing liberal lawyers are making money for their newfound "illegal" clients!

Because silly, sending our troops ot the Mexican border instead of Iraq would not have helped the oil companies make huge profits from the ever-rising price of gas, and all the no-bid contracts they have in Iraq.

And why did Homeland Security just this year tell the Senate it wasn't 'cost effective' to put a visa exit tracking system in place although the time for it had already been extended, if they want 'temporary' workers to be truly 'temporary'?

He wants more labor chasing the jobs so wages go and stay down.
