I hear so many people on here who claim they are Christian and go crazy trying to convince others that their religion is the true religion, force their God on money and in public schools, and into the Pledge of Allegience.

Well, what is with all the noise? Isn't faith how you show yourself to be true to your "god?" What are you afraid of? What is with the self righteousness?

You see, Coca Cola and Pepsi spend millions of dollars trying to convince us that they are different than one another.

Is that what you are doing? Trying to convince others that you really exist and are any different than other religion.

Or is the reality that you are all the same and you drum up fear, hatred and war, just to convert others?

No. We are here to bring the Good news, that is all.
Jesus died on the cross for your sins as well as mine.
If I did not bring you the news of salvation, and kept it
all to myself, what good would I be to call myself a Christian.

Christ is the way, the truth and the life..... life everlasting that is.... I just wanted you to know.

Christians have a mandate to carry the word of their lord god to other people. You see, the early church understood the power of religion. They also understood that, without a revenue generating system in place, they would never rival the throne for power. The Papacy, tired of being on the wrong end of the law and subject to the whims of the throne, invented Tithing. If you'll notice, the Catholic church was really poor until all of a sudden (somewhere in the 1300's I think) where you suddenly see the Pope sporting his big hat, all the vestments have gold liners, etc. Well, that was because they started enforcing the Tithing idea with a new thing they liked to call Hell. You see, up till then Hell was just a dark place of non-existence. But then came the idea of a devil with a pitchfork and fire and brimstone and people started to get really scared and figured, hey, we can buy our way out of that afterlife so why not? So the message became, spread the word and pass the plate. That's why, on the occasions that I do find myself in a church, I NEVER give money. Mixing money up in religion is ALWAYS a bad idea.

i figure, if God really wants that church to exist, he will make it so, with or without money.

Something you Christians might want to try: Go a year without collecting revenue for your church and see how much "favor" you really carry with God. :)

You sound angry. IM a Christian and I never push my faith on people. My best friend is a non believer and it upsets me because she is so negative. But I let it slide. She actually feels because she is a non believer thats he has more right to preach to me abuot how God is not real and all this stuff but if I dare make a comment to her about having a little faith in God or something, she will jump my case.
Also, when the United States was founded and being disvocered it was being discovered by mostly people that beleived in God and thats why God is in our amendments and all that. It was just the way the United States was brought in. The USA was also brought in speaking mostly English, but the USA has no official language. So if everyone wants God out of everything, then people should be able to come here and speak any language they want and have that catered to them too! I am a Christian and a strong firm believer!!

Christianity along with all other religions is a scam. It is a waste of time and should be banned. Religion and crazy beliefs are the main cause of almost every single war.

The whole concept of Christianity is flawed anyway. If you do believe in God and Heaven (unlike me) you also musi believe in hell. There are 10 conventional ways of getting into hell (10 commandments) but there are also the 7 deadly sins each resulting in a number of years in eternal pain.

1.Lust, anyone who has been in love
2.Gluttony, anyone fat
3.Greed, anyone rich
4.Sloth, anyone who couldn't be bothered to do a chore
5.Wrath, anyone who ever got angry
6.Envy, anyone who has ever seen anyone better off than them
7.Pride, anyone who has ever done something they were proud of

I don't know about you but I don't think even Jesus would have passed these tests. So if you believe in heaven and christianity have fun in hell I am perfectly happy being eaten my worms.

the reality is that we are all the same. and there are a lot, and i mean a lot, of christians who seem to enjoy taking the "moral high ground", "im going to heaven and you're going to burn in hell, cos y'all are heathens".

i think it would make more sense if people could show by faith that they have a God, if that's right, rather than being self righteous. not least because everyone hates hypocrites.

im not trying to say what we all do is right or to justify it (i know i do it too and im sorry) but i think on some level its not a preachy thing, it is a genuine wish to share something that you think is prettty amazing with other people, and often, and fair enough, they dont want to know.

i just dont think people set out with the intention to shove their self righteouness down your throat, but human nature brings it out in people .you find the odd few who manage to tell you what they believe nicely tho, you just have to keep your eyes open to it.

I think they are being defensive b/c to be fair Athiests are doing the same thing too. As for the Pledge I think God should stay in it not only for historical reassons but just b/c it sounds good with that in it.

I'm a christian. I believe a man was born 2000 years ago who came to save the world from its sins. Do I have physical proof? No. It's called faith. Christianity is the only religion in the world where you do not have to do a certain amount of deeds or qualify in any way so your god accepts you. You simply have to accept Jesus when He comes to you.

now don't exactly quote me on this, but I heard in the Bible that any upright man that believes in his one god and practices his faith in a true way is a righteous man in the eye of God. So do not be compelled to listen to preachers because half the time they do not practice what they preach!

For the second time today: it is called Christian Apologetics. Which means if a question is asked, we should answer.

We don't get brownie points for converting people, it is of no benefit to us.

Pepsi is SOOOOO much better than Coke!

What you say is true, but only some people are like that. Therefore, you shouldn't say that all Christians are like that. The reason I say that is because I'm a christian!

by putting god on money -- that cracks me up more than anything.

the one thing god wouldn't want to be mentioned on:

material cash

and the moronic thumpers in this country have god
scribbled all over our cash.

now THAT cracks me up!!!
