Men who were divinely inspired wrote the Bible. They were not free to write whatever they wanted. They also were not just "taking dictation" either. I believe that the bible contains exactly the words that God intended. If you start thinking that the bible is something "close-to" or "kind of like" what God wants us to have, then that makes the Bible just another book.

Also, when I study a particular passage, I try and find out what was intended by the original Hebrew or Greek language. In some cases, the translation to english does not portray the exact thoughts.

Yes, they are sinners, but God used men that were doing HIs will to write the Bible under inspiration.
It can be paralleld to a Lawyer, dictating to his secretary, what he wants written down... she takes it down word for word the point he is trying to make.

While the majority of ancient writers reported only their successes and virtues, the Bible writers openly admitted their own mistakes, as well as the failings of their kings and leaders. Numbers 20:1-13 and Deuteronomy 32:50-52 record the failings of Moses, and he wrote those books.

Matthew 17:18-20; 18:1-6; 20:20-28; and 26:56 record poor qualities shown by Jesus' disciples. Thus, the honesty and candor of the Bible writers give support to their claim of being inspired by God.

Yes... men are fallible...
that's why the argument that the "bible" in the "word of God" is a shallow thought!

Due to the fact that these
Christians use the Protestant Old Testament which is lacking 7 entire books 2 (Tobias, Judith, Wisdom, Ecclesiasticus/Sirach, Baruch, I Maccabees, and II Maccabees), 3 chapters of Daniel and 6 chapters of Esther may be one of the reasons they ask catholics so many questions.

For the Sola Scriptura this is too bad .
In the 16th c., Luther removed those books from the canon that lent support to orthodox doctrine, relegating them to an appendix. Removed in this way were books that supported such things as:

prayers for the dead (Tobit 12:12; 2 Maccabees 12:39-45),

Purgatory (Wisdom 3:1-7),

intercession of dead saints (2 Maccabees 15:14),

and intercession of angels as intermediaries (Tobit 12:12-15).

The lesson, though, is this: relying on the "Bible alone" is a bad idea; we are not to rely solely on Sacred Scripture to understand Christ's message. While Scripture is "given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16-17), it is not sufficient for reproof, correction and instruction in righteousness. It is the Church that is the "pillar and ground of Truth" (1 Timothy 3:15)! Jesus did not come to write a book; He came to redeem us, and He founded a Sacramental Church through His apostles to show us the way. It is to them, to the Church Fathers, to the Sacred Deposit of Faith, to the living Church that is guided by the Holy Spirit, and to Scripture that we must prayerfully look.

The book was written by men whom had zero interaction with Jesus. It was written on hearsay. It was written so that the church could have power and control over people. It's worked. Just look at all of the people who follow it. It's funny how they never mention the parts where god orders people to murder, and then rewards them for doing so, or how they forget to mention that slavery is ok, and it is ok to degrade women. I wonder why they don't mention this? I find it hard to believe that anyone who has read the bible and understands it, does not dismiss it as nonsense.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

King James bible

edit:

Without a standard for absolute truth - the bible fulfills that need - truth is relative to the person. Nothing is absolutely wrong or absolutely right. Without absolute truth we are the prey of those who believe they are gods. That includes those who are intelligent and powerful enough to change the way whole cultures think by means of concerted and conspiratorial, clandestine operations. The Book of the Law was written by one such person, he said, under the quide of a spiritual being. His name was Aleister Crowley and he called himself the most evil man on earth, and was referred to as the Beast. I'm sure you've heard his favorite catch phrase "Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law?"

Most of the questions asked here on this forum are based in part on the cultural mental virus that was generated by the teachings of Aleister Crowley and his fellow members of the secret intellectual antichrist elite who believe that they are above the law of God.

Man (i.e. humanity) is fallible, but the Bible is the inspired Word of God. When it was written, there were no flaws. There are some flaws in some translations. Sometimes they are simply about the translators misunderstanding context, common usage, & the etomology of the words in the original language, but sometimes they are about man trying to change God's Word. (One example of this is the Greek word "baptizo" that was transliterated to "baptize" in the King James version of 1611 instead of being translated to "immerse", because the church of England was practicing sprinkling as the mode of baptism & King James did not want that to change.) Even with translational errors, you can still understnd the true Word of God, if you read it with an open heart. Also, even in the KJV, you can still understand that the original & intended mode of baptism is immersion from phrases like "buried with Christ in baptism" & common sense bury = covered...I believe that God makes available to us what we need to serve Him & it is our choice to do so or not.

I swear someone asks this question 3 times a day. The Bible is a book filled with stories about how God relates to man in his life. How God uses people to join him in His ultimate work. The blessing of God choosing those that wrote the Bible was a profound one. One they were blessed for. They allowed God to have influence over the words they chose.

Not might have been. But, anyway-yes. Man is very fallible.

The word inspired means "God-breathed"
Men are of course more than good at making mistakes, but when God does anything,(yes, even through a man) it is perfect.
