Lion's Gate is where 40 years ago the Israeli soldiers broke through to recapture the city. Today, there is a new battle raging for Jerusalem. But it's not being fought with soldiers and tanks.

For most Arab Muslims, the loss of Jerusalem was a tragedy. And when they lost on the battlefield.

Today, some Israeli Arabs such as sheik Raed Salah demand that Muslims take back Jerusalem, by force if necessary.

But most Israeli leaders promise to keep Jerusalem undivided and under the flag of Israel.
Lambert believes that in light of prophecy, Israel's retaking of Jerusalem was a major event.

"Forty years is generally accepted as a biblical generation. We have had 40 years and Jerusalem is still in the hands of the Jewish people," Lambert said. "Now there's going to be an enormous battle and conflict and strife over this and the prophet Zechariah says it. He says all nations will come against Israel, so what does that mean for you?

The antichrist divides the land for gain (Daniel). So, only antichrist/antisemetic nations (goats) will try to wipe Israel off the map.

It is written that God divides the nations according to the Number of Israel. So, if Israel goes, so does everyone else.

So, God won't let it happen. And also, Israel is seeing the fulness of the Church happening in all nations & Christians support Israel & are related through Jesus Christ (Jew). So, soon the blinders on Israel will fall off.

I don't think all nations will come against Israel until the Son of Perdition sits in the Temple claiming to be God... And that won't happen until the Christians with oil in their lamps are caught up in the rapture & out of here. Then this will allow the antichrist to gain world control.

Why are people looking to the State of Israel as if it has some prophetic significance? After USA and Britain is there a less Godlike nation on this earth? The resurgence of Israel is not an nation but a people of all nations. A spiritual Israel

The nations are ALREADY on a campaign to destroy Israel.
(The UN, EU, UK, Arab states all have the same goal: to destroy Israel; they differ sometimes on method) It's what Zechariah talked about.
You can also see how the prophesy of Bilaam works, that the Jews are a nation that "dwells alone" and "not reckoned among the other nations" (Num 23).

Muslims and Arabs don't feel very happy about the existence of the Jewish state, so I think we can be pretty sure there will be another big attack some time in the next 50 years. Us Europeans don't have much backbone at the moment and so our governments would probably not support Israel much (and we have rising immigrant muslim population which politicians want to keep happy).

I thought 70 years was the Biblical generation.

Why would we destroy Israel? We have more important things to do. Like taking care of our own people.

No because God is interested in the Church now, not the nation of Israel. Take away American tax dollars and there would be no official Israel. The real Israel is the Church of Jesus. We're in the New Covenant now; the Old has passed away. We need to pray for the Israeli people to be saved and we are called to love them but we also need to pray for all peoples of all nations to be saved as well.

Israel has anywhere from 100 to 200 "reasons" that the Arabs will never regain Jerusalem...

According to the prophecies, Iran (then known as Persia) will wage a nuclear war (destro the world), then Europe, and the Arab/Muslim world will wage war on Israel.
So yes; you are right.
