Correct me if I'm wrong, but as the vast majority of the Bible and other religious works cannot be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt--and are therefore opinions-- then wouldn't most of our questions be considered chatting?

If that's the case, then who decides what is worthy of remaining in the forum, and what is to be deleted?

I feel that only the obscene or disrespectful posts should be removed, but I wouldn't object to no deletions at all.

After all, some people would be offended by wishes for a great day. So who decides?

Everything that deals with religion or spirituality is opinion. Does that mean this whole section should be deleted?

I think you're right, and only the purposefully harmful posts should be deleted. Otherwise, they'd have to delete the whole section.

Hmmmmm, well your highness.... I really, do, not, know. I agree that unless it is serious it should be addressed by the mob rather than the palace administration. LOL!

I have not been here long enough to get a handle on all this. I am concerned by what I see though. I like the old saying about agreeing to disagree. A good old fashioned joust is OK too. Yahhh, hammer it out! but don't kill each other off!!!! There are limits.

I don't think it is fair play to get people axed over ideological, religious or Atheistic differences. This is why I love coming here so much, is the diversity!!!! I learn from everyone, especially people I disagree with, in some sense anyway, and I value that.

Sad isn't it.

Peace all!

The Y!A Nazis decide, thats who.

For the record, unhacked is wrong - it is scientific HYPOTHESES that are opinion until proven. Once proven, they become Theories. So, the Theory of gravity is proven. The Theory of Evolution is proven. The Hypothesis of Intelligent Design is opinion and hasnt been tested or proven.

I think chatting can be helpful becuase it helps us all realize that we are all human with real lives and if we choose to insult the computer screen, there is a human somewhere being insulted by it. But if some are offended by chatting, then they don't have to answer the "chatty" questions. :)

I completely agree with you.

Unfortunately some people like the feeling of power and are pretty quick on the report abuse button.

Yahoo needs to have moderators who can search for the truly offensive posts (obscene, bigoted, etc) and remove that report abuse feature entirely.

Unfortunately anyone with an itching trigger finger, the people who are report happy. I think for the most part it's all automated after that, they don't actually look at the questions and answers they delete.

There is plenty in science that cannot be proven "beyond a shadow of a doubt", but it is taken to be correct until more information is known. Any new scientific theory is "opinion" , till proven or disproven.
