I try to do 40 pushups in the mourning which is my max right now, then i try to to 40 later on in the day. Im not looking to get huge muscles, i just want to get "toned" Im i relatively skinny kid with a natural 6 pack (as long as a flex a little). Im 14. How many pushups should i want to do a day to get toned in my arms and how many crunches/situps should i do to help my 6pack. I workout plan would be greatly appreciated.

Oh, I used to run alot, but because of a foot injury. (my arch in my foot collapses onto a tendon) i cant really run. Any substitues? THANKS

I used to try to do 1000 pushups a week and it worked pretty well. The only problem with pushups is that they do strain the shoulders pretty well, but unless you're having rotator cuff or bursitis problems, you're probably fine.

You might try variations on the pushups such as putting your hands closer together or farther apart, and putting your feet on a table or chair to work on some different muscles.

is dependent what your seeking to do. Go to youtube and seem up pushup versions to get an suggestion of the diff sorts you'll do. I recommend simply doing three units of 20 average pushups each and every night time and morning and growing via two reps everyday. Also in case you carry weights at the part its well to do pushups once you conclude bench press. Good good fortune. Hope ive heloed.

hey well for ur age never use dumbles as dis may damage ur height.. at dis age don concentrate on havin muscles jus stay healthy n try up on ur height..
abt ur push ups don do at a strech 40.. lik first do abt 20 or 25 tak a break of 2 to 3 mins den do d same n again d same.. lik three sets.. n as in d even it may b really tirin so jus try doin how much possible but make sure u continue it evry day..
take care of ur diet n make sure dat u keep healthy...
not much subtitutes for runin.. sorry for dat...

no such thing as "toned". definition comes from low body fat.
your body can only do 4 things.

lose fat, gain fat, lose muscle, gain muscle.

the hardening of your muscle is called the pump effect, blood rushes to the muscle feeding it, this is temporary.

there is no answer to your question because it doesnt exist. if you want to build your muscles you need to perform resistance training with free weight or machines.

if you want to lose fat, eat clean and perform cardio.
