Is it was ok to use a gentle moisturizer before applying retin a micro, or if it would decrease the effectiveness?
I apply the retin a micro once, at night, after washing my face, than in the morning i wash my face again and put on a sunblock moisturzer before applying any makeup.
The reason i was to know is my face is a little red and i was hoping maybe the extra lotion may help, i was thinking either using cetaphil facial lotion, or maybe trying the eucerin redness reducer for my night lotion? any thoughts are appreciated! thanks

not everyone is able to use retin-a on their skin...some people get rashes, itchy skin or allergic reactions .... be very cautious.
BTW Put whatever you like on your skin to make it comfortable, all it does is weaken the Retin-A product and maybe that's best for your skin.

It will be red while you're getting used to the Retin-A, if it's real Retin-A that you got with a prescription. Are you sure that isn't stated in your literature, or by the doctor? Also, you're staying out of the sun, right? Don't put anything on under the retin-A.

Aveeno has a great moisturizure that really reduces redness and calms your skin down. I've really noticed a difference. And retin a micro really dries out your skin so I think it wise to use a moisturizure twice daily.
