Calm down mate, the liberation army are at war with 90% of cornwalls residents as well you do realise that don't you. If they launch war on England, which they are trying ot do, I know which flag I'll have on my arm.
The doll rate is high in areas yes, but no higher in other areas where mines have closed such as many Northern areas. I personally find it difficult to see such a high rate, but these are from families crushed by the mines closing, younger generations are moving on, older will/can not.
Cornish lib are a backwards group of people harking back to a 'great time' 400 years ago, that they have no idea of anyway. They see the mines closing and think being independant would save that, the majority of cornishmen view these as retarded wankers just as the rest of the country does.
Sorry you had bad experience visiting down here answerer above, I work (part time - college student also) in a tourist village and always see them being welcomed, and obviously welcome them myself. Tourism is Cornwalls main income, and the majority do recognise that, theres always going to be some who think we can rely on fish and tin, but they're obviously becomeing fewer as the time moves on. Most people here want the 'puffins' as you were called (I've not heard puffins before!), visiting the beach enjoying the view etc. as thats what keeps you buying our food, sleeping in our accomodation etc.
I hope that anyone visiting to day would find a better experience, although obviously can't guarantee it, some wills till bump into the occasional anti-tourists, but these people do become less far between; it depends where you visit though some areas are a bit more 'backwards' than others, but when dealing with people who have one mind set (either fish/mine/farm) its very difficult. But the majority of fishermen, fishing towns, farmers, farming towns etc. are realising they have to move on. The mining towns who only recenty lost there shafts are furthest behind, but they're still stuck in a mini economic recession following the mine closers, they'll catch up.
I would still proudly display myself as Cornish, but also as English. Cornwall is a part of England, some people just still need to catch on. Nothing wrong with proudly singing the counties anthem at rugby matches, but to call for independance is stupid.
But to answer your question, couldn't you just declare war on the liberation army, the majority of cornish would fight with you. Or you could declare war on Cornwall, will just take a couple of days off, it can't take you longer than a couple of days to crush the cornish libs, just leave the nukes in scotland!

We didn't declare war on Northern Ireland. One year with out tourism and they will be begging us to come back.
The worst thing the government could do to Cornwall is cut the dole checks as it has a high rate of unemployment and main business are seasonal.

I went on holiday to Cornwall 30yrs ago, and vowed never to return, The attitude of those Cornish residents, towards the holiday tourist was unbelievable, I remember once, calling us Puffins, quote-We travel all the way for 6 hrs, and the first thing we do is head straight towards the beach, and those heads turn this way and that way, taking in the scene, Just like those damn bloody Puffins,They object to be called English, only Cornish men

If they become threatening to use we can easily invade and take cornwall, it would be an overnight thing as they have no way of stopping us from entering and also they have no seriously threatening army.
Our airforce dwarfs theres, we have a full sized navy and army. If cornwall attacked we could attack and defeat them within a couple of weeks with minimal losses on our side of things.

"A good sword and a trusty hand, a merry heart and true
King James's men shall understand what Cornish lads can do."
Politics don't move very fast in Cornwall.
(That may be why I'm moving there. I can already sing the anthem)

Be very very careful about such suggestions or the world could be thrown into war. The Janners will attack with inter county ballistic oggies and there will not be a counter attack because of the traffic jams.

Shouldn't bother, your army would get snarled up in traffic beyond Exeter.
