I suspect yes he is. But new god-images aren't born that often and they tend to have a heavy influence based on the locale in which they are born. Just look at the difference between the Mosaic God and the Hindu Brahman.

Even on a personal level, would a Christian raised in France today have a different view of god than a Christian raised in France 400 years ago? I suspect yes, still, but how could you prove it? There don't tend to be well designed surveys of people's view of gods taken over time. All we get is the views of individuals and people try, generally, not to expound a particular image if it's the same as one that's already been expressed.

It's a great question.

God does not evolve, we are evolving towards Him. The beautiful part is that this is a never ending journey, because we are finite and He is infinte, so we will spend all of eternity learning more and more about God.

If you go to Hebrews 13:8 It will tell you Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.

The only thing that is evolving is people and their distaste for religion, How sad.

God doesn't have to evolve and he changes not!

Not if He is the One True God, Creator of the Universe; because "God never changes", and "Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever!"

These sayings may sound trite; but they are nevertheless true! My suggestion is that you read the reference I give below.

I say no. Evolution happens through the passage of time to profit the best adapted species for the environment they exist in. God exists outside of time, and is a perfect "species" already.
