Perhaps if we all held our breath for like a few minutes a day we could slow it down

When you hold your breath you deprive your body of oxygen and increase the carbon dioxide. After you start breathing again you breate faster to make up for lost time - holding your breath would be carbon neutral.
You want to contribute to the cycle
1) Plant trees - I have 9 on my property - enough to make up for 36 people.
2) Hang yourself to stop your usage ^_^

Yes, breathing does release CO2. And no, we are not carbon neutral. When plants take in CO2, they can't differentiate between the CO2 released from fossil fuels and CO2 released through respiration. It's all the same. If you factor in the great amount of fossil fuel to produce the average foodstuff consumed, then the carbon price tag is considerable.

Let's also not forget that fossil fuel has a natural source.

Realistically, holding your breath will not decrease the amount of CO2. It simply allows the CO2 concentration to increase in your lungs until you can't hold it in any longer. However, if you decrease metabolism, decrease consumption you WILL decrease the amount of CO2 released (again multiplied by the energy costs of foodstuff production.).

Breathing is the final step in the process of breaking food down into carbon dioxide. And food is part of the natural carbon cycle. So breathing is carbon neutral.

No. Hot air rises and dissipates - our breathe has 'no time' to have an effect on the melting of the ice caps.

Global warming is a scam . The CO2 has been taken care of by plants and photosynthesis.

Don't forget farting, that is also a huge problem.
