Shame on the ancient folks for using the good news of salvation and turning it into what we know as Christianity today. They used it to rule over men. From that many atrocities occurred. Many false doctrines and theologies were set in stone... Shame shame shame... They did in a few hundred what the Pharisees did by Jesus' time. What would the Messiah say about that today?

Just some quick info:

I think the biggest problem with the church today is that it is no longer the living body that Jesus wants it to be.

It's more about standing up and sitting down 3 times singing hyms, the building, the deacon board, etc.

I see a resurrgence in home churches and such getting back to the idea of ekklesia.

Christianity may have only evolved into a small group without the strength of a systemized belief that was spread by conquest, poltics, government and religion.

It's the same with ISlam. If it weren't for the invaders there would not be all that many Islamics.

The Domino Theory does work to a degree, but sooner or later everything put together falls apart.

Interesting....

It doesn't matter what occured at Nicea. The bible already foretold of the great perversion of His Church. The Good News is that God sent Jesus to die for all sins committed by man, past, present and future, and now is the risen Lord!

Jesus doesn't look back in history, neither does He want us to. Our focus should be on His Victory at Calvary!

Hallelujah Jesus!

You need to be more specific, because I have no idea what you're referring to. The Nicene Creed was one of the most positive things to have happened in early church history. Arius and his followers were rightfully rebuffed and received a fairly lenient sentence. I can understand arguments on both sides of the Meletius decision, but I can't really fault their ruling for in the end, God knows every person's heart.
