And don't give me a bunch of crap about it's not the ring.. it's the love and marriage.. Cause then your ring is either from walmart or a bubble gum machine.

I got a three stone emerald cut 2 carat ring... beautiful!!! It came from Zales and I have no idea what it cost... but I do know that I love it. My wedding band is .5 carats of channel set princess cut stones.

BTW, there is nothing wrong with wal mart diamonds if they are certified. Oh, and it is NOT about the ring... it is about the love and respect in the relationship. If all you are concerned with is the materialistic aspects of the marriage... it will be a short lived one.
In the words of my wonderful husband... Marriage is not a fifty fifty thing... It is one hundred percent of both of you, one hundred percent of the time... no vacation days, no sick days.
I wish you all the best.

Actually walmart, especially sams club, can get very high quality diamonds.

Most women aren't going to know how much their husband spent. so I will go ahead and answer.
The rule of thumb when a guy is buying a engagement ring is it should cost 2 months salary or 17% of your yearly income.
Me personally? I spent about 8 grand for a Tiffany 1.25 ct Platinum Emerald cut with tapered bagets

On the crazy end of the scale. My mothers ring my dad bought her was a 4.25 ct Platinum band solatare that was around 75 grand. I tried to get her to give to me to give to my wife....she didnt go for it...lol

it's a 1/2 carat solitare and he spent about 1200 on it, and it came from zales, and I love it....its a beautiful ring, exactly what I wanted and we didn't have to finace it which I hate doing cuz I'm all anal about debt. The plan is to get a soliare wrap for it maybe around the 10 year anniversary mark to keep things interesting :)

sidenote: as far as your knocking people who have their priorities in order, (and theirfore probably have sucessful marriages) I think your personality is worth about as much as one of those bubble gum machine rings.

I have a 1.5 caret princess cut colorless diamond set in platinum with baguettes on both side of the main stone. I don't know how much he spent and I don't care but I know that my ring is beautiful and he picked it himself. We have been married 6 years.

I got a 2 carat solitaire diamond...not sure what he spent, I was just so excited I forgot to ask LOL! I have the papers about the flaws (fingerprint), but he has the appraisal. I was wondering if you could respond to my question I asked today, if you have the time, I always enjoy the stuff you have to say LOL! It is about this douche groomsman that backed out of our wedding. Thanks.

.75 carat Princess cut 3-stone. Wedding band is .25 carat...it is perfect...not too big, not too small. The whole set was around $2,000.
