There's an atheist convention every year, but for the most part there are no meeting, no discussions. Our beliefs vary, with the only common factor being that we don't believe in a supreme being-god, or gods.

I'm one of the atheists who believes that we possess souls, and that there is an afterlife. I also believe in angels, although not the Biblical kind.

Sure we do. Every day. It's called "Happy Hour."

All seriousness aside, no, we generally don't "meet and discuss things." As soon as you start doing that, someone will eventually want to be in charge and start making rules, and that's how religions got started. Atheists aren't organized that way, because it serves no real purpose. You'll also find very few avowed atheists in the fraternal organizations.

As you can see, we are a mixed group. There can be so many reasons not to believe a thing, some rational, some not.

What we believe, beyond not holding a belief in God, will very greatly.

Personally I am an Objectivist who tries to holds himself to the Socratian standard skepticism.

I'm a pagan Taoist atheist. I generally talk with other pagans and atheists because I don't know any other students of Taoism personally.

An atheist belives in him/herself above all. THAT is the nature of atheism. You are KING of the world from that perspective. His/her trinity is ME, MYSELF, and I.
