the first thing I try to see are her eyes, but I am human. If that person has an unusual anatomical feature, I may be drawn to it. Three days ago, I was in a waiting room and a midget came in the room. She was an attractive person, well groomed and articulate, and later on I found out that she was used to being the center of attention due to her size. I did not go out of my way to stare or show any outward signs of unusual behavior, but when she brought up her size in conversation, I eventually felt comfortable enough to discuss this with her at length. (we certainly had plenty of time) One of the comments she made caught me off guard however. "People get so worked up about my size, they never notice that I have great (hmm, I'll leave it to our imagination as to what portion of her chest she referred to here) I told her that Dolly Parton made the same comment about her posterior region when she was doing one of those top ten segments on David Letterman. I guess I caught her off guard because she could not stop laughing for a long long time.

I like to start looking straight ahead and work my way around, but I do look. I also look at flowers and trees and many other natural objects of beauty, and I do not apologize. I was in Norway, during one of those rare days when the sun was shining and the weather was as warm as toast. During these times, the local people get as much sun as they can without shame or remorse. I was walking in this park when a young girl playing with her dog came into view. Needless to say, she was not encumbered by any clothing and I looked her way as I walked by.

She got my attention by saying "Excuse me, Are you American?" and I said that I was. She then asked me is we didn't think it was rude to look at people when they were without clothes? I told her that it wasn't any ruder than looking at the clouds in the sky or her dog for that matter. I remarked that if she had wanted privacy, all she had to do was to go behind a wall, or over to one of the private areas of the park. She smiled and said that was good because most of the Americans she knew were prudes. then I asked her how she spoke such fluent English and she told me that if I had heard her language, I would realize that they needed English to get anything done. I told her that it couldn't be any worse than Hawaiian or Gaelic, but she said it was. I wished her a good day and went on my way, but I don't think the vision of that particular moment is going to fade as long as I can remember my own name.

It also interests me how many women deliberately dress in a way that accentuates certain attributes, and even adjust their posture when it suits their purpose. I'm not complaining, but it certainly makes it a bit harder for poor fellows such as myself who are trying to keep our minds on our business.
