How do you think absolute peace in that area would affect the rest of the world, regardless of its feasibility?

The question is, how would peace IMPACT the rest of the world. I know its not an easily reachable agreement. What's that tradeoff? We are choosing war over ....... what?

Obviously... But as a professor of mine told us, wars are usually fought for one of three reasons: land, resources, or identity. There are enough issues concerning all three of these in the Mideast to keep them fighting for years/decades/centuries to come.

I don't buy the usual canard that Arabs/Muslims are intrinsically more combative than other people.... But still, reasons for optimism are few.

When peace comes to the Middle East, that means the end of the world is at hand and Jesus will be making His return

It would be awesome, however, they have been fighting since Genesis & Exodous. It is a bad habit they have picked up. I don't think the fighting will ever stop. They are some of the last barbaric people left on the planet. I don't think our presence in Iraq is going to stop after we leave. It is a loose loose situation. Very sad for those who want peace and contentment and safety.

It won't matter at all.

Things will still be disastrous in places like Darfur and South Central LA even if everyone in the Middle East put down their weapons and went home.

I think we'd be better off if all war disappeared, not just war in the middle east. however, once they stopped fighting each other, these loving christians would go over there and try to convert them and war would start again, only with different participants. :(

in the short term, peace there would be great...but it is the nature of mankind to be violent so eventually, some other nut would start war in dissention in some other part of the world.

These wars have been going on for Millennia. Getting the US out of there won't change anything.

No I don't, I think if we didn't go to war we'd all be terrorized in each of our states not just NY, PA, & VA

I thank God for the American Soldier and all of our armed forces!
