No.
A few years back Lecia came out with a combination 35 MM film camera that you could change out the back and make it digital, but I dont think anything ever came of it.
Best to just go out and buy a new digital SLR.
Interesting enough, way back with the idea of digital photography came out. The first digital system I ever saw was a censor that fit where the film sat in a 35mm slr. However, that fad didnt last long.
They do make digital backs for medium format film cameras that are absolutely great. However they are very expensive.

I thought that there was a way to insert a sensor where the old film would go and that would turn it into a digital camera, I think I seen a product like this, you would flip open the back and stick that in there instead of the film, but maybe I am wrong... I too like the idea of using an older camera with a digital backing, I would choose this any day.

I never have heard of a person reverse engineering a camera before, but now that I think of it I suppose you could do it. Though I would imagine it would be cheaper to go and purchase a digital camera. The only reason I could imagine any one would want to do that is becuase they want to keep some of the components of the film camera, such as the shutter or some other component but digitize the camera at the same time. Best of luck to you on your task, though!

You could do it, but all you would be left with from the old camera would be the case. It would probably be more cost effective as well just to buy a new camera.

Oh sure, that would be easy, no problem. Just go buy an expensive digital camera, take all the guts out of it and put them in your old camera, then holler "presto chango!"

Short answer is no, there was someone about 10 years ago developing such a system with the electronics where the film canister goes and a sensor on the film plane, but it came to nothing as far as I am aware. Chris

i dont think this is possible. If it is, it is probably not worth doing. You should just buy a digital camera.

I've just bought a Pentax K100 DSLR for £300.00. I would have thought that that would be a cheaper, easier option. Hope this helps.
