I asked a previous question about if a believer would kill if commanded by god. I was shocked at how many said yes.
In Iraq and other parts of the middle east the terrorists kill because some very charismatic leaders told them that god wants them to kill for him. Are die hard christians in this country on the path to possibly having the same fanatasism?

Would you kill if the authorities promised you a life of luxury beyond your wildest dreams? A chance to do whatever you wanted forever?

If God, through clear signs, told me I have to kill, I most likely will. However, those terrorists have no grounds on which to justify their actions. They recited verses of the Koran, yes. The text is all there, but they misinterpreted the text. The entire page may have been talking about war, which should not target innocents and are only to defend one's own self or spread the word of Islam. They're doing neither.

No. Christians in this country will never kill someone in the name of God. This is because Christ's teachings were about love, compassion, and Salvation.
Even when we execute someone in the name of the State, we always have a member of the clergy there to listen to their sins and administer the last rites.

I have read the Bible, and have enough education to know that God will never order me to kill someone.

Even when God ordered Abraham to sacrifice his son, he was testing Abraham's resolve. Then, to save the son, he sent an animal in his place.

I answered your previous question with a yes. God is not a charismatic man . Is Allah or Buddha asking people to kill? I think not. As you pointed out, it is the fanatical leaders. If any preacher or minister, no matter how charismatic they were, asked me to kill someone the answer would be a definite NO!!!!!

If that were so, wouldn't we be doing that as much, and for as long as the terrorists. (they've been around for some time right?)They believe that (whether told to or not) that it is good to die for their God. So they do it "just because".You asked if God "told" us to, would we? Even though God has never made anyone kill their child. Try again

You have 2 things going here.
If God commanded someone to kill then they should kill.
But that is why the word of God (Bible) is so important because He has told us NOT to kill.
Anyone who listens to a "charismatic" leader that instructs that person to kill is not listening to God.
As for terrorists they are following the words of Muhammad recorded in the Koran and this is not in harmony with the Bible.

All you have to do is look back to the Crusades. Yes, they killed infidels in the name of God. Right wing Christian Fundamentalists consider the war in Iraq a Holy War and George Bush God's General. And yes, they are fanatics. Just look at some of their Q and A's on this site. Also, read Chris Hedges' book AMERICAN FASCISTS. It's an eye opener!

Many Christians say that they would indeed kill if they believed God wanted them to, yet if a Muslim is convinced that it is so, that person is some crazed terrorist.

I have trouble finding the distinguishing difference other than the religion held by the killer.

Just another example of how the whole institution of organized religion is a total sham. It is a mechanism of separation. Anyone who thinks that their is a difference between "Jihad" and the crusades is sadly mistaken.

Religions, as they are not tethered or grounded in fact, can be made up and modified to how the current powers that be see fit. As they were made up in the minds of men, thus they can be changed in the same way.

I suggest you do a Bible study of the Minor Prophets and Ancient Israel.
Within that you will study how God uses war for His own purposes and makes some people warriors for His cause.
Don't be such a surface skeptic....if you really want answers, then break out the Bible and study! You will never, ever regret it!!

seriously... if God wanted me to kill someone that i loved then i really question my faith in him. he'd also have to appear to me face to face and order me to do it and even then i'd have trouble considering it and maybe believe it to be the Devil instead... but still...

As for Terrorism... i actually have a feelin that maybe eventually Christians will take this world by storm being led by Christ (whose gonna be a powerhouse of a man like the punisher btw and not a hippie that alot seem to think he'll be).
