First of all, a wedding gown is always 2 or more sizes than what you wear in your everyday clothes, so no need to panic! Most shops do carry larger sizes to accomodate brides to be. If they don't they are only hurting their sales capabilities!
P.S. You'll know when you've found THE dress, so don't settle. I'm getting married October 20th and after a dozen gowns, when I tried on mine and it made me cry, I knew! Good luck and congrats!

Depending on the kind of bridal shop you go to they may or may not stock your size. Keep in mind that wedding gowns normally run about two sizes to small, so you will need to try on about a 20 or 22. Alot depends on your bust size and span of your back.
David's Bridal is a great place to shop for plus sized wedding gowns. They have a women's line wich basically fits like a half size would, and they give a little more in the bust and back which is where you want it to. David's stocks wedding gowns up to a size 26w and if they dont have the dress you want in the size you need it, they can order it....just give the order about 2-6 weeks, depending on the style of the dress. David's is an off the rack kind of store so if you find the one you love in the size and color, you can take it home that day.
Good luck and hope this helps.
Just remeber.....dont eat a big lunch before you try on wedding gowns, and sodas hold water weight.

At a size 14, you should find that almost all designers will carry your size --probably more like an 18 in bridal world. You shouldn't have a problem finding something you like BUT if you are going to a high dollar store you will have more difficulty. From my experience, most dresses in those stores are a 10 or so.

I am sure will find a shop that sells size 18 wedding dresses, however a wedding dress would look far better if you could try to loose some weight. Obesity is a big problem and if you were able to lose weight your health would benefit enormously. There are loads of slimming clubs, my neighbour and her son have been going to one for 5 weeks and both have already lost over 1 stone. I wish you good luck.

Yes they do, so you'll be fine. Hundreds of years ago when I was still at school I worked in a bridal shop at the weekend and we had a lot of people who were a lot bigger than a size 18 coming in, believe me.
The only thing I suggest is that you avoid anything white, ivory is probably better, as putting it bluntly you will might end up looking like the Michelin man (we had one lady who was insistent that she wanted a white trouser suit and she really looked like the Michelin man, we tried to tell her but she wouldn't listen). Also avoid anything to lacy/frilly as this can make you look bigger than you really are.
Size 18 isn't really all that big to be honest. And many shops offer an alteration service.
Sorry to be blunt, but I would hate to see you look awful on your big day- ENJOY IT!

Any decent bridal shop will cater for plus sizes! If they don't, I wouldn't be offended - just tell them that they should get with the times - UK national average is now a 16!

When my daughter went looking for her gown they were nearly all big sizes, she is a 10.They pinned them at the back to get desired effect and then ordered size she wanted.
So dont worry I am sure they will have size 18.
My daughter got married last October and looked stunning.
So will you I am sure, all the best.

They will be able to get your size, even if it's not in stock they will be able to order it, it;s not as if a size 18 is uncommon!!! Enjoy finding your dream dress and have a wonderful wedding day.
