What kind of operations?? (if you could name a movie with rangers in it, it'll be nice).

Their primary mission is to take Airports. They also support Delta. They operate in small elements and have an advanced urban combat mission as well as advanced capabilities in mountain, desert and jungle warfare.

Guess the better question is what do they not do! Haven't ever heard of them having SCUBA teams, but let the SeALS do that.

US rangers were deployed on Pointe du Hoc operation during the Operation Overlord invasion plan. They are highly trained forces used in quick deployment for Special Ops

They are light rapid infantry, whose main objective is to disrupt the enemy behind enemy lines. On D-day, their job was to parachute in and disrupt supply and command lines to prevent the Germans from resupplying the beachhead. They haven't done a parachute mission in decades, preferring to ride around in choppers and walking off the plane like everyone else.

A ranger has a simple job. He has to patrol a part of the country and oppose all threats to the country's government and military forces.
