No reason to.

There is no evidence that any gods exist, and there is a whole lot of evidence that each of the gods in all of the religions is man-made. You can just look at their own history and their own claims and see that.

And if you look into the nature of human belief, you'll see how easy it is for such superstitions, legends, and myths to be made up and believed by many.

I don't believe in god because of a few reasons really. One, god did not exist until humans created him. After all, was he worshipped by the bacteria during the first stages of evolution? Was he being worshipped by the dinosaurs while they roamed the earth? Then there's the whole fact that many wars were started on the basis of religion. Who is right, who is wrong. I could go on about this forever, but I think you have the idea.

There's no evidence for god, and there is no reason to believe in one.

The arguments *for* god's existence are all severely lacking, and all areas of natural study where the "god of the gaps" might have formerly resided now have plausible hypotheses surrounding them. Abiogenesis could come from something like the RNA-World hypothesis, we know about what happened for most of the Big Bang, and we have the groundwork for ideas on consciousness. More importantly, the outdated mystical explanations for those items have been essentially discredited (e.g. static universe, creationism, Cartesian dualism).

God has been dead since the 19th century. Those who still refuse to accept evolution can just look at yet *another* "missing link" in the gigantoraptor recently discovered.

I'm willing to meet you half way and say that perhaps god does exist but I don't find it necessary to worship him. Can a person be good without worshiping god, of course they can. Can a person worship god and be a scumbag? Absolutely, so why is god necessary? I try to do good because its the right thing to do, not because I am afraid of punishment or expecting a reward. If I did, then my motives would not be sincere. Also think about this, not you or any other theists are concerned whether we believe in god or not. You want us to think like you, you really want me to believe in a god? OK, I'll believe in Zeus.

i dont believe OF a God its a big difference between in and of
because i believe the bible is an old load of crap its written as a guide to life like a holiday booklet a psychologist must have wrote it and life has revolved around it since
oh because everything that has happened will happen again well of course it will if you believe it enough its just a load of psycho babble a colt even
and because i have more questions than could ever be truly answered with proof
and ever heard lost in translation the book has been written over and over again from one language to another (or like playing Chinese whispers)
so as far as I'm am concerned I'm not concerned i will not go to heaven or hell i will go back into the the earth to be in the circle of life

The truth is that I would love to believe in God. But everytime I tried to read the bible or listened to the stories that are in it, I just find myself shaking my head.

The bible seems unrealistic to me. Other questions come to my head also.

Where did God come from? If he is so great why does he have to hide himself from the world. If he wants us to worship only him how come he let's people continue with their other religions?

I stop to think sometimes why should I believe?

Because society says I should. as all other religion christianity was invented as a way to keep people from doing the wrong thing and keeping them on track.

To me God's a bully. "Be a perfect person! If you're not, get on your knee's and beg me for forgiveness. If you don't I'll sentence you to an eternity burning in the fiery depts of hell!''

Because there is no proof of god (yes the burden of proof lies on the believers)

The idea of gods serves no purpose in a world of reason and science.

You don't need a god to have a universe

Because, when looked at logically, there is no reason to believe in god. You may say that the universe, human life, etc etc, cannot exist without god, but I look at the facts available and see that they certainly can. While this does not prove that god does not exist, I cannot rationally say that he/she/it does.

For the same reason I don't believe in Mother Goose, the Tooth Fairy, Thor, Zeus, Batman or any other man-designed super-creature.

I fail to believe in god(s) because I have seen no evidence supporting such a belief. In fact, I believe I have seen evidence supporting gods not existing.

It makes sense to me.
