How in the world did the vet miss a puppy?
Anyhow, I'm sorry you lost the puppies, but if the mom and puppy seems to be doing well and is nursing then it looks like you have a blessing on your hands. I hope all works out and this pup survives. You should probably call the vet and get a check up for both mom and baby. I'd ask how the eighth puppy was overlooked while I was at it.

yes. please do not breed your female this is a very difficult breed to well breed. they have more than a few health problems and complications that can happen. this is way you pay so much when you buy a puppy some not only have to be born by c- section( which is basically all) but many have to be artifically insemnated with a syringe by a vet. this is not something you should do with just researching on the internet. if you are dead set on breeding her pair up with a a good stud research line that go back at least 20 years. second make sure to check all papers you have on her some breeders make it so that in your contract or sales agreement you do not breed them. if you do not have this ask the breeder if they know a stud and will help you breed her. But this is not to be consider lightly. Remember the process and procedures you are going to be putting a member of the family throughand the cost of it all. and always expect the unexpected.

I would call the vet and let them know. However, if the puppy is doing fine, I wouldn't worry. It's likely that the pups weren't ready to be born when the c section was done, so being left behind saved this puppy's life!

Definitely a miracle pup!

Did take proper care of your female when she was pregnant? A pregnant dog needs a lot more vitamins and supplements than a dog that's isn't pregnant. English Bulldogs especially have many health problems and problems giving birth, so it's very very important to really take care of your pregnant Bull in order to ensure healthy puppies.

I'm sorry for your loss. I hope you have better luck next time.

If this one is alive. congrats. I might think about taken it to a different vet than the one who delivered them and telling them what happened.
