How can Christians expect to bring the non-believers to Christ when they cannot even get along with themselves. Baptists, Catholics, Mormans and Church of Christs, all these sects claim to be Christians and hold up the same Bible, yet they can't agree on most issues, including whether the other sects are truly Christians? If we are to believe John 3:16, then it is truly WHOSOEVER believes and all of the other practices that make up the differences in the sects are superfluous. Show your strength and love for Christ and start working together Christians. Support WHOSOEVER for a change. You will undoubtedly bring more people to your cause.

Top Ten Signs You're a Fundamentalist Christian

10 - You vigorously deny the existence of thousands of gods claimed by other religions, but feel outraged when someone denies the existence of yours.

9 - You feel insulted and "dehumanized" when scientists say that people evolved from other life forms, but you have no problem with the Biblical claim that we were created from dirt.

8 - You laugh at polytheists, but you have no problem believing in a Triune God.

7 - Your face turns purple when you hear of the "atrocities" attributed to Allah, but you don't even flinch when hearing about how God/Jehovah slaughtered all the babies of Egypt in "Exodus" and ordered the elimination of entire ethnic groups in "Joshua" including women, children, and trees!

6 - You laugh at Hindu beliefs that deify humans, and Greek claims about gods sleeping with women, but you have no problem believing that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, who then gave birth to a man-god who got killed, came back to life and then ascended into the sky.

5 - You are willing to spend your life looking for little loopholes in the scientifically established age of Earth (few billion years), but you find nothing wrong with believing dates recorded by Bronze Age tribesmen sitting in their tents and guessing that Earth is a few generations old.

4 - You believe that the entire population of this planet with the exception of those who share your beliefs -- though excluding those in all rival sects - will spend Eternity in an infinite Hell of Suffering. And yet consider your religion the most "tolerant" and "loving."

3 - While modern science, history, geology, biology, and physics have failed to convince you otherwise, some idiot rolling around on the floor speaking in "tongues" may be all the evidence you need to "prove" Christianity.

2 - You define 0.01% as a "high success rate" when it comes to answered prayers. You consider that to be evidence that prayer works. And you think that the remaining 99.99% FAILURE was simply the will of God.

1 - You actually know a lot less than many atheists and agnostics do about the Bible, Christianity, and church history - but still call yourself a Christian.

If I were you-I would not worry about other's problems. It appears you have some of your own. Are you a Christian? Or do you just think you are? Do you know how to tell? How can you be sure? Anyone who can not separate out the Christians in that group that you mentioned-is not a Christian.
You say we should work together-God says separate from them. But, Christians are specifically commanded not to associate with those who claim to be Christians but do not act like it. Hmmm....how can you know which is which??? Obviously you don't.

Have you never read that not all who call themselves Jews are Jews and wolves will come in sheeps clothing? Or how about the tares and the wheat? You can't group all these religions together and say they are all Christians any more than you can say that everyone in a particular church is saved. It's a thing of the heart.

It is not our responsibility to bring non-believers to Christ. We are to live our lives as an example--as a beacon of light in an unbelieving world. It is up to the non-believer to accept of reject God. YOU are responsible for your salvation; so it is up to YOU to believe John 3:16.

True christians are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal saviour. Their hope is in the Lord. They believe in the resurrection and the gospel of God's kingdom on Earth. They study God's word, so they're not tossed back and forth with false doctrine.

John 3:16

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whomsoever shall believe in him shall not perish, but have eternal life."

Let's break this verse down. God loves the world. (People in the world who are spiritually dead because of their sins against a Holy God).

Jesus is the Son given for our transgressions against God's Holy nature. God poured out his full wrath upon his son upon the cross of crucifixion. The cross is a testament of how we look as sinners to a Holy God.

That whomsoever shall believe in him: Because we are all dead in our sins against God, God requires us to believe in his son because there is no way any one of us can work (good deeds) bribe our way out of what we all deserve (hell, damnation). The only way to eternal life is through his Son, Jesus Christ. For only Jesus took the full punishment for our sins.

Shall not perish: Understand this. If you are not believing (that means anything but a Christian/ follower of Christ) than you will perish.

But have eternal life: Thus the joy of the Christian.

Also read what else John says in the same chapter: "He that believes in the Son has everlasting life: and he that does not believes in the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him." John 3:36

Now do you understand? The stakes are high. God is love and mercy, but He is also Justice.

The problem here is you are putting Christians in with a religion. You don't have to go to church or have a religion to be a Christian. And I think you said it all when you say They claim to be Christians.I'm not saying that all who go to church aren't but most are there because its the right thing to do.

I must admit, Christian that I am, sorry, what drew me to your question was the picture :) With many religions it lies in the idea that "there is only one way to God and that is through Jesus Christ"....I am not an expert on any religion and do not claim to be...I am more focussed on my relationship with Christ. anyway I believe it boils down to other religions putting other things before the acceptance of Christ as their personal savior, specifically the Catholic church and their cannonization of Mary and other saints.

That is exactly why I don't go to a church. My belief in Christ is truly a personal relationship, unburdened by the judgemental-ness of organized religion.

There is many ways to witness, example, by your works. We don't need to agree with each other. It is not important as long as we are spreading the message of truth. Don't worry, Christ plan is perfect
