I'm starting to feel down. The last paying job I held was in 10/2006. Usually I don't search for jobs and if I do I'm picky about it. Some of the interview calls I get from of those calls I only go to 50% to the interview. I do great in the interview and I know for sure interviewer is impressed with me but then I always get rejection letter. Then I question myself what is it i'm not doing right. I want to work and I know if they hire me that i be very good employee. Plz help. Oh i asked one of the company for feedback they never provided me that

remember If you approach a Company you are the begger and beggers are not choosers .........
If the company approaches you.............you still are not any different fronm begger from what i see from your question is you are desperate.
Dear friend,
Do not take the word begger literally.
What i mean to say is you can not demand or you are not at demanding position.
Hence choose the companies carefully and sometimes do not outrightly reject tem.
Always when you take appointment for interview honour it.
And you know that in past even if you thought that you have impressed the board that didn't turn out that way.
So take every interview seriously understand the thin line of difference between assertiveness and aggression.
Between confidence and over confidence.

Don't feel Down, gear up, pull your socks and get set go with the most cheerful attitude.

Hope it helps!
Cheers!

P.S- we recruiters do not want to get into any trouble almost of any sort, not even explanation or arguements, you may not get into it, but someone else could. hence its better to avoid everything by leaving NO Feedbacks!

Asking "what you could have done" or "what was lacking in your skills" that you didn't get the job is a good idea, but you are right not everybody will tell you.
I'm sure you do great in interviews. Maybe you can't be so picky with the jobs you apply for. The competition is GREAT out there so you are up against the best of the best. You have to put yourself up there to get those jobs or apply for the lesser appealing jobs that might not be your first selection.
If you are going to 50% of the jobs you apply for on an interview ~ that is amazing. Usually you get only about 5-10% of interviews. You are doing good. Maybe you just have to apply for MORE jobs ~ more interviews. It is a numbers game ~ the more you apply for the more opportunity for getting hired.
Just maybe, do yuo sound TOO DESPERATE for a job?

I say don't be discouraged. It happens a lot. I went to a bunch of interviews and was not hired but I'm sure someone will. Funny thing is when I was discouraged it took the pressure off and I went for an interview and got the job.

Are you applying for the right jobs? I know employers are picky about experience level and salary requirements. May be thats where you're going wrong :/

Good thing is you are getting interviews. Some people don't even get that.

I wish you the best of luck.

Don't forget thank you letters after interviews. That helps employers to remember you and gives you a chance to show you are really interested.

You may not have the skills the employer is looking for, even though they like your personality. If they're looking at two pleasant people, and one is a better fit for the job, that's the one who will get hired (most of the time). My advice is to be less picky, start working, and then continue to apply for your dream job for the future. If you have a job, you can find another job more easily, sometimes with the same company.

Just keep trying. Be persistent, call them and tell them how interested you are in the job, thank them for their time and consideration, and ask on any updates a few days after the interview. That will keep YOUR name in their mind and stand out from the crowd.

Look on careerbuilder.com and craigslist.org. Search them every day! Find the jobs you want, apply. Beggers can't be choosy.. Apply for everything you are qualified for, and worry about finding a better job once you are already established at another job. Employers don't like seeing huge gaps in resumes or are uneasy hiring somebody who is out of work for so long. It makes them wonder.. So get that job, no matter what it is, the rest will come in time.

I would take a look at the General Questions section and the Interview Tips section of

http://www.jobinterviewquestions.us

I have found the information there to be very useful. They have questions and answers that you could expect.

You need to start having the answers to all the questions they might ask. I am not sure what type of work you do, but they have a broad range of questions depending upon the job.

Lets us know how you make out!

I know that it is a normal thing to HOPE for answers and feedbacks, but please, revise your behavior in this regard and stop WAITING for replies because it is not likely at all that you'll get too many. This is normal as well. You need to get on with your life, move on, never stop searching and if the reply comes back, consider yourself lucky and prepare for the next step.

Just one question. You do great at interviews...but do you ever follow-up? Because if you don't, it's high time you did:

Good luck for the future and stop being so pessimistic!
