Consider it like cooking oil- heat and oil do what?....fry right? This is especially so in fair complected people. There are tanning lotions on the market now that contain some sun screen but also create tanning. If you need a tan now maybe you should try a gradual self tanner if you are easy to burn with UV light.

Back in the day, when nobody cared about skin cancer we used baby oil all the time. It worked great but we had no inofrmation about the long term affects.

But knowledge is a wonderful thing and now there are products that protect the skin and allow you to tan.

Actually it would not be called tanning - it would be called BURNING.

Baby Oil is NOT a Protection Cream - therefore - burning and then blistering and then skin in total pain and then not healing properly, etc.

Baby oil is a great choice if you are going with that melanoma skin cancer look.

The oil will act like a magnifying glass for the harmful UV rays that damage your skin cells.

You know how your mother bastes the Thanksgiving turkey to make the skin brown and crisp? Same thing. Use sunscreen with good UV protection.

I use baby oil ALL OF THE TIME and I'm as fair skinned as can be. I NEVER get burnt from it, I am getting much tanner though. And it also makes your skin super soft. I say go for it. : )
