I recently learned that we all have spirit guides and have been so intriguied that I tried contacting via meditation. In my trance I could visualize this beautiful angelic woman. I asked questions and I seemed to get answers back. In the middle of it, I wasn't sure if this was real or my imagination was playing tricks on me. So I said to myself I am loosing it and decided to stop and go to sleep. As I laid my head down, my bedroom door started to vibrate or shake as if there was an earthquake. I am trying to find a logical explanation for this. Has anyone experienced this? I am going nuts? Or did I really tap into something? I am so spooked!

Thanks for your responses. I got a mixed range of responses. And am glad to see there are others who have experienced this so I am not totally insane.
Well, I do believe that spirits exist so does angels and demons. I don't think I am ready to tap into this dimension nor should. There is a posibility that in my search I could contact an earth-bound evil spirit. I will pass on exploring this further and will continue praying to God for protection.

The Holy Spirit exists. He is my "spirit guide" and ideally is every Christians "spirit guide".
I have heard of what you described and there is a name for these "beings" but I don't recall what it is. This whole event that you described is a demon encounter. I know that sounds weird but it is. I've never encountered this and I don't know anyone who has. You are hopefully not going nuts. Other people have experienced this.

* . . . I guess this is as good a place as any . . . *
This question comes up here from time to time. The concept of spirit guides originally belonged ONLY to shamanic traditions like those of the Saami and various Amerind tribes. The idea that EVERYONE has one is pure New Age pop culture.
I'm going to suggest two postulates here:
1. Meditation is a form of self-hypnosis.
2. Hypnotic states, however induced, increase *suggestibility.*
In shamanic circles, it's called "writing your own story." Stop and think about it for a second: You had heard of the concept. You went *looking* for the experience. You had an experience---this is the important part---straight out of your pop cultural symbol set . . . your spirit guide looked JUST like a "guardian angel" a la cover of the National Enquirer.
Within true shamanic traditions, such visions were both guided and TESTED after the fact, and a coherent symbol set, developed over generation upon generation of experience, existed to *protect* the vision seeker. Most modern "shamans" are simply seeing EXACTLY what they expected to see:
Harner: "Shamanic journeys start when you go down into the earth."
"Oooooh, look, I'm entering a CAVE!"
Harner: "The shaman meets a spirit guide."
"Ooooooh, a DOLPHIN! Neato!"
Catch my drift? It's not that spirit guides aren't real. They're VERY real. It's just that . . . well, it's not really as easy as just "going looking" for one while meditating.

That's really a religious question, since there is no scientific evidence for "spirit guides" or guardian angels. Such things are matters of faith where one believes in them despite the lack of evidence. Do they exist? Some people will tell you yes and others will tell you no, but it's really only up to you and you alone whether you are going to believe in them or not.

Imagination is a wonderful thing....... but it is also a means for demons to contact a person. "Spirit guides" as people call them, are demons seeking to gain access to a person, or control their actions. Having at one time been deeply into the Occult, I can state this from experience.
Seeking spirits through imagery opens you to spiritual influences that once they gain access, will not leave, unless forced out by a power greater than themselves.
You are playing with things that Man should never have dealings with. Want a spirit guide? Seek God through reading the Bible, as He will guide you to your benefit, not to your harm.

Foxfire is absolutely correct!!!
I want to add that it is good to meditate if you meditate on the life of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit or God with us. That type of meditation takes you out of yourself leading you closer to God who is separate from you.
Don't fall into the trap of meditation on your "inner" god. That will lead you into believing you are God Himself. Trying to "own" God is believing you own the Holy Spirit who is God. That is blasphemy and will be punished. This can lead to some very bad consequences in your life.
I tell you this out of love for you, not to make you perish but so that you will have a great, long life.
Yours in Christ Jesus, Grace

Welcome to my world. I have known about these spiritual guides most of my life. Your imagination is not playing tricks on you. You've opened up your true spirituality. The hardest part is getting past the religion your parents gave you. As for having a logical explanation, I can only think of one. Our God. God comes to me whenever I ask, you must have asked. Keep exploring, it will do wonders for your soul. Good luck.

Why be spooked??? you are searching for the power to see, it will not be shown to you if you run.
We do have spirit guides but it is not easy to get into the state of mind that you need to be to hear what they want to tell you.
The door shook to get your attention. not to scare you. You have the right mind for an etheric traveler! Calm down! lol
Say a blessing type meditation before sleeping each night and if you meet her again... tell her you are calm and willing to learn. thats what she most wants to hear. :))

I believe in it because I do believe through meditation and through relaxation you can draw upon yourself and those that you are close to in your mind for advice and guidance on things. I also believe in the spirit animal as well. I know I have a spirit animal and I know what it is, it is something that gives me strength and its grace in the worst of times. It is funny because I can really identify with it, and in life, I am so in tune with it I work with that animal type a lot and have great success because there is just this bond and understanding. We are on the same page.

Angels and demons exist. Most "spirit guides" that you read about in new age type articles are not the former however.

As humans we all have guardian angels who are spirit in nature and guides us in all our undertakings however said guardian angel will not guide you as expected when you are allowing yourself to be tempted with the evil spirit.
What you have experience is not your guardian angel but it is the evil spirit whom you have called when you meditated. He want to misguide you that he is your guardian angel.
