Hey guys, have a problem. My doctor is out of town for 3 weeks and I really want to try this new pill called Alli. Can any one tell me if it's safe to take this pill along with get my depo-provera shot(birth control). Thanks.

Serious respones please. I don't want a respone saying don't take them cuz pills are bad. I don't care.

Yea alli is safe when you are on birth control. Alli blocks fat and not medications. However its always good to talk to your doctor if you notice anything.
Also ignore the people who say alli is bad.... its only bad if not used as directed even then its not bad it just can cause bowel problems. Most people read and follow the recommended usage. If you want to learn more check this site out and visit the blog :)

Blech, its as "safe" as depo provera is.

By that, I mean there are some nasty side affects with Alli just like there is with the depo shot (I was on depo for four years and I'm so glad I'm off the shot, its poison).

IMO people are trying to find an easy way out with losing weight. If I knew that Alli actually worked and did not affect my health in any negative way (loose stool, cramping, headaches, etc) I'd totally be up for trying this.

I had just watched a report on the news about this pill. They say that you should "work out and eat a healthy diet" while on the pill.

Frankly, the working out and eating right is the way you will lose weight, NOT the fact you are taking the pill.

The best way to lose weight is eating healthier and working out.

Disposing all the warnings, which you said you did not want to hear, I do not believe the two drugs have any indication of interaction.

That is, no - it should be safe to take the two together.

Remember Alli works by blocking enzymes in your stomach, and is mostly expelled.

As always - get a doctor to double check, then triple check.

I just bought Alli, and am starting it on Monday. I suggest calling 18006712554....thats the number on the bottle... but it says only weedays from 10am-4:30 Eastern standard time...I have an IUD and never even thought about it. Good luck though!

Use a vegetable bean dip including hummus instead of ranch dressing or possibly a fatty cream-based dip.

Do your grocery shopping with a list and a time limit; that way, you're less likely to stray into the highly processed foods section.

Decaf coffee is a superb low-calorie fluid when you're having cravings (and a terrific source of antioxidants).

Don't confuse thirst with hunger. Drink a glass of water once you feel hungry to see if that is what you're really craving.
