"Withstand"? what kind of water resistance are we talking about? If you want to submerge it, the submersible pump motors a previous answer mentioned might be good, but if you just want to hose it down, or leave it out in the rain, a "washdown" motor is a standard item, most motor supplies have or can get them. An internet search for "washdown motor" got over 300,000 hits

in theory a car's engine should be tight provided all seals are OK and electric cables for the sparkplugs and so on are insulated against the water. Nevertheless it needs snorkels for the air and the exhaust.
I remember to have read an article about a guy who drove his Jeeps completely under water just the snorkels showing above the surface.
An electro motor can be capsuled to be water tight as well.
