I am 42. I began to have doubts about Christianity 10 or so yrs ago. No one had answers.I decided that the word Christian locked me into a catagory that I did not agree with. I came here to learn from you and how your belief works for you. Last night I ask an answer and got called a "vapid troll" I assure you I am not. I just need to ask you questions. OK now the question. Do you need to be firmly rooted in your beliefs to fit in on this forum? I have an open heart and mind, I need to find answers. Thank you

Love your questions, Susan. Sure, there is a place for your wherever you want to be, regardless of your beliefs or what other people think. I was also brought up in the country with a Christian religion. However, when I started to learn about other religions, I could see how they made sense too. For example, Buddhism fascinates me. Having said that, I like to have my mind open and would not want to "corner" myself into a definition of a religious belief. Anyway, I think that you will know in your heart, when someone is being unfair to you and will have strength to ignore it.

To be honest you probably won't get what you are looking for here. There are more Christian bashers here then anything else. But if you want to have fun getting these guys going this is the place.I honestly have not seen too many real questions being answered the right way here. But yes I think you do have to be strong in your beliefs to be here.Mainly because they can throw some really rude stuff your way.But on the other hand you'll find some really knowledgeable Christian people here too.Not just Christian but of other faiths and from around the globe. But I wouldn't take too much serious.God Bless.Hope this helps a little.

Irrespective of what occurred there, it was once addressed by way of Drutharaashtra as 'Dharmakshetra', and not using a competencies that Bhagavatgeeta goes to be preached there or even earlier than the primary ball was once bowled within the bout. "Dharmakshetre Kurukshetre Samaveta Yuyutsava: Maamakaa: Paandavaaschaiva Kimakurvata Sanjaya?" So the reply is obvious that it's not a cursed situation. If dharma is holy, it should be a holy situation! Further, to cite Swami Chinmayananda, a pupil at the Geeta, "Kurukshetra is a situation in which untold devout sacrifices had been played. And anything extra. Kurukshetra was once centered among 2 sacred rivers: the Jumna and the Saraswati within the Northwestern facet of India. A river is consistently sacred. A river residences water. Water indicates cognizance within the area of spirituality. And this cognizance is continually natural, unalloyed, sanctifying and energising. So we now come to be trained why Kurukshetra was once known as dharmakshetra and no longer or else". @@a p e Sacrifice right here method, 'Yagyas', no longer the sacrifice of any existence or deaths in conflict that's being talked approximately by way of the Sawimiji.

I am in my late 40's and I began questioning Christianity when I turned 16. Part of it may have been the rebellious teen in me, but the major part was the Church. At 16, I became very sick and prayed intensely for help. I eventually would "pass out" from the pain and would awake several hours later, drained but with lessened pain. This continued for the next 20 years. I had many dreams and a few nightmares about our God. I spoke to him/her often. The main thing I remember most was, he told me not to believe all that I read. At that point, I became spiritual and an outcast among many Christians. As Christians feel it is their mission to try and change everyone. If someone says anything contrary than what is believed to be truth in the bible, they are believed to be atheist or Satan worshipers. Not true. I found that I am a Deist, a word I didn't even know existed. Look inside yourself, talk to God, you'll find the right path. Good luck and may God be with you.

This can be a good place for answers. Sometimes you have to sift through the responses to find what it is you're looking for.
There are many people here who are "firmly rooted their beliefs" -that's why it possible to receive strange and sometimes offensive answers. But, I would say the vast majority have some idea of their position and are seeking to find truth and validation in their beliefs.
Don't be disuaded in asking - just be aware that (like other posters have stated) you are going to receive ridiculous answers to the most heart-felt questions.

Thank you for asking.

You are coming into that age where many of us have questions and doubts. Nothing wrong with that. It is part of the dialog we have with God. You read the Bible and all the "great" ones questioned God. Believe me, God can handle it. Others may not as you will probably discover on this forum.

Whatever you do don't let the actions or words of others who call themselves "Christian" make you feel like you have to throw the baby out with the bath water, if you know what I mean. The problems with Christianity is not with itself but with the religions that have developed as a result of its impact on the world. I suspect it is the religiosity of some "Christian" groups that have brought doubt, embarrassment, and frustration into your own personal spirituality.

I would be glad to discuss further if you wish. You can always email me at my profile. I am in my 40's and understand where you are coming from. Best to you.

Of course you have a place here, don't pay attention to those hate epithets. You have the right and the freedom to ask questions.

About what you said about your beliefs, the same thing happened to me. Since I was a child, I started asking question that were never answered or I got the infamous: "it's a mystery". So I decided to clear out my doubts by myself. I consider myself a Christian, but I don't believe in the trinity and I'm not church goer.

Remember, what you believe is what YOU believe, don't let others to interfere.

Yes, there's a place for you here...please hold....your in row 12, seat 17. Please enjoy your stay.

But seriously, you are welcome here, as are all people who are able to take this site seriously, but also with a pinch of salt.
In other words, ask and answer honestly and truthfully, but also try and see the funny side of some of the Q&A's, except for those which are meant to cause insult (such as the one calling you a 'vapid troll). You have to keep in mind that people here will insult others (though sometimes unintentionally). But thats what the report function is for.
But most of all, try and enjoy your time o this site.
Good luck.

We need people like you on this forum. You will help others who feel like you and you will learn in the process. I hope you stay.

I went through a process of getting away from old doctrines as well. You can do that anywhere, but I think you might find some good things here. Stick around for a while and see how it works out.

Of course, anyone is welcome to express their beliefs and opinions. You may need to toughen your skin a little, some people on here can be brutal. Lots of trolls and people who express their beliefs in an uncivilized and hateful manner (in all the groups). But there are lots of people who want to help others. That's what this forum was created for. Ask away.
