yesterday around 5pm, i was getting off Interstate 495 MD. i was in the lane and about to make that exit when a car behind me flashed their high beams at me, what does that mean?

my lights were not on. and neither were the other cars.

They could have been trying to turn their turning signal off (some people are this anal) and accidentally pulled the lever instead of clicking it down. I've done it before.
Check your tail lights and turn signals to see that they are functioning properly. Next time, have the finger ready...

If it is not an alterating flash one light at a time it is just someone who thinks their time is more valuable then yours. just keep driving never stop there are alot of scams out there for theft if people pull over and it is not a cop. also when you get back on highway after exit stay in right hand lane and let them pass. seems like they were just in a hurry. if it was one headlight then the other it was an unmarked squad and you need to pull over and slow down but unless they use a siren I would not come to complete stop.
