exactly...it wasnt his and something happened to it. Your sister could have wanted to use it when he had taken it also.

FIRST of all -- when someone takes something with OUT permission -- that is the property of ANOTHER person -- that is called STEALING -- and there is no way around that fact -- it is illegal and you are DENYING the person who worked very, very hard the ENJOYMENT of using what they EARNED!

SECONDLY -- when you do this -- and then are IRRESPONSIBLE enough to pass it along to another and NOT Be responsible enough to get it back and make sure that it is returned to its proper owner -- then ... in reality .. the RESPONSIBLE thing to do is to take from your SAVINGS or earnings the MONEY you have earned/saved, and yes, GO To the STORE and PURCHASE a replacement for the ITEM that you took without permission from another!

Yes, it DEFINITELY Was his FAULT -- first for stealing the MP3 Player (and yes, when you take without permission it is STEALING and a crime), and he was irresponsible and careless when he left the item so that it was now stolen by another.

Your Boyfriend needs to either get the money out of his savings to PAY for another MP3 player for your sister (and it should be the same model for sure) or get a job to earn the money to pay for another MP3 Player for your sister.

I am sure that your parents are VERY ANGRY at this 'boyfriend' you have -- that he would come into their HOME and think he could just take whatever he wants. I would NOT blame them one bit for saying that he can't come over again -- period, and that he needs to pay them the cost of replacing your sister's MP3 Player!
