When we have no proof of God, how can you say that man is fallible and God is not? If we have no proof he even exists, how do we truly know that scriptures contain his word?

J: That's an infinitely ignorant claim. An object lacking in proof for its existence, and also lacking in proof for its non-existence is never automatically assumed TO exist. This is a logical impossibility. So you're telling me this is your line of thinking:

1. There is no proof that god exists.
2. There is no proof that god does not exist.
3. Therefore God exists.

There's no proof that there's an elephant orbiting the third moon of Jupiter, are we to assume that one exists because there is no disproof of such a claim? Of course not, this would be proposterous. I know you won't get it.

arewethereyet: Nothing written in the Bible is profound. Nothing contained within it is something that a reasonably intelligent human being could not use their common sense to come to the same conclusions. Not to mention, that Christianity has taken from almost every other religion of the era for their own doctrine.

Jed, I've read the Bible; it is why I've left Christianity.

Jed: I don't believe ANYTHING just because someone says it did. I examine evidence, read studies, use my own knowledge, and make my own assessment of the situation. That's the great thing about thinking for yourself. You should try it sometime.

We don't.
The cornerstone of christianity seems to rest upon the premise that the bible is the word of god. They then use quotes FROM the bible to support this. It is a self-reinforcing mindset and apparently impenetrable by logic or reason. They do not even understand the error in thinking this way. It is impossible to have a conversation with these people. They actually do not understand why you don't believe and trust in the bible as they do. They think your skepticism is something you affect on purpose, to be rebellious or bad or ignorant or (in the words of St Augustine) "obstinately perverse." For the life of me, I do not understand it.

Ok, just because you can't see something (air) doesn't mean you can't prove that it exists. We can't see atoms either but I am currently enjoying the electricity provided by my local nuclear power plant.

Also, the burden of proof lies on your side, christians. It isn't a 50/50 burden. "I can't prove god exists, you prove that he doesn't exist." It is next to impossible to prove that something doesn't exist. Can you prove that bigfoot doesn't exist?

Have you christians just stopped educating yourselves? Just a few decades ago christians were just as intelligent as everyone else. You are all a bunch of ignorant fanatics. I feel like I'm taking candy from a baby here.

Please, read some books (besides the bible)! Make me work a little harder here.

I never said it was my "job" to convert christians. I wouldn't do it if you paid me.

Why do people ask that question all the time? Are you expecting a different answer from believers? It's faith...IT IS FAITH!!!We don't have concrete proof. Don't you already know that? So why the heck do you keep asking a question? So we can keep going around in circles, and people can be called ignorant for believing in something you don't? There will never be set proof, THAT is why it is called our F-A-I-T-H....because that is all that it is! We get a spiritual feeling from God...but we don't from thinking about elephants orbiting Jupiter. It's that's simple. And you will never understand it, and keep asking questions, until you experience the Holy Spirit. So let it go, and stop asking for PROOF about a FAITH! It makes no sense.

Oh,yes, Christians only read the Bible Miranda.(you apparently aren't doing to well at you "job" since I've yet to see any Christians convert to non-believing) What is stupid to me is hearing people ask for proof of something that is based on Faith. Let it go! it's not going to happen! Once again...that's why it's called faith.

it extremely is observed as faith. It one reads the Bible it extremely is achieveable back to the top that it extremely is for the main section actual. There are some issues that don't completely make experience and that seem to contradict, sure. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, some issues you in basic terms could tackle faith. a similar factor is carried out by utilizing evolutionists. There are limitless holes in that concept and unexplainable phenomina. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, because of fact once you step returned and seem on the great photograph, it sort of feels to make experience and you may see what could have long previous into the hollow in the theory. I view the Bible a similar way. there is not any way that i'm able to emperically instruct that the Bible is infallible, or perhaps actual. even regardless of the undeniable fact that, a similar is actual of evolution, because of fact it won't be able to be stated (macro evolution) it won't be able to be emperically shown. we are able to basically make assumptions consistent with fossils and different archives. i think that the Bible is infallible considering's what it says and that i take that on faith. in basic terms such as you in all likelihood have self belief that we developed from an basic ancestor of monkeys. you have no longer stated this, you in basic terms have self belief it on faith because of fact archives shows that it extremely is a threat.

Okay, believe it or not, you want proof, it is the Bible.
If you will take the time to see what's really there, there's all kinds of support, and all kinds of proof.
Just check out the prophecies that have already been fulfilled.

Have you looked around at the world at all? Do you honestly believe all this somehow evolved, just because some group of people say it did?

Here is more food for thought.

Since man is fallible it doesn't matter if the bible is Gods word or not because man is still the one who wrote it down and man also is the one who translated the text.

Since man is fallible he would have put his own spin on the text to make it fit more inline with each authors and translators beliefs and so the text has become corrupted over time and I doubt it really resembles much of what it originally meant.

We can know things by their qualities without knowing them directly. It's hard to ignore thousands of years of people becoming completely transformed through their contact with the sacred words of the universal educators. Obviously not for you, but for others there have been qualitative changes in their thinking, behavior and hence their lives through contact with those sacred words and trying to put them into effect in their lives. The experience and process has been long term, cross cultural, and consistent among the various sacred traditions. If we be fair in our judgment, we have to consider that by inference there might be something besides self-delusion to the process.

YOU have no proof of God and YOU say there is no proof that He exists. Why would anyone accept what YOU say, when YOU don't know if you'll wake up tomorrow morning, or that you'll even live out the day? Makes no sense.

I have my own proof you evidently have not sought it out for yourself which is the only way to have solid proof.

It is quite evident that man is fallible proof of that is abundant.

You can't know, not unless you actually try using some of what His scripture says in your own life.
