It depends on what dewormer. Nemex and strongid (from a vet) can be given again after three days in severe worm situations. If it is an over the counter dewormer it propably won't do the job anyway. It also depends on the type of worms and the conditions the pup came from. There are too many variables for anyone to help without seeing the pup.

In other words don't listen to people here god knows what you will be told and it could jeopardize the life of your pup. He is old enough to be neutered so make him an appointment for the whole shebang and the vet will get it all done for you.

Added:

Kit kat: Its too young for heartworm and it doesn't need a blood test for it. nor does it need to be on prevention for another couple of months. If you get him on prevention before he is six months you will not need the blood test.

FYI: (I do the blood tests)

SEE GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT YOU WILL BE TOLD.

Added again:

OMG the only way you can tell a pup has worms is via a stool sample!!! His gums are no indication of worms.

Like I said "GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT YOU WILL BE TOLD"

Over the counter wormers plan on worming every 4 weeks as they are not very good. The best thing is wait a week and take the pup to the vets for a check and a stool sample. Then get the worm er from the vet Also find out about a heart worm check and start on preventative and that would help prevent from other worms.
If you just bought the pup you should have gotten all shot and worming info. in many states it is the law.

I would worm the pup again in about a week. I would also run a stool sample to the vet to have the vet check what kind of worms the pup has. He might need to be on another wormer specific to other worms.

In one week, and again a week later if there are lots of worms in his stool. Then once a month. You can actually worm young babies once a week for 3 weeks in a row if there is a huge worm infestation.

Ask around for the suited vet your people can deliver you to - which isn't the main costly. A vet bypass to ought to fee approximately $50, and then from there issues get further on. don't be shocked in the experience that your domestic dog bypass to is around $2 hundred. the vet could supply you fliers for coverage - some plans in straightforward terms cover ailments and injuries, and others have some preventative maintenance on there - no longer each and every canine proprietor incorporates it, and the vet can help you identify. the main needed element is that your and your domestic dog have a good help device - no photos on the interior of sight puppy grant save traveling hospital, yet a actual 'puppytrician'. you will get good sturdy advice from a good hospital, no be counted what's happening including your canine as he grows - and as a clean canine proprietor, you prefer that. And ask them approximately domestic dog kindergarten early on - which will help lots. funds various hundred money for each year care, and bypass from therer. It has little to do with the somewhat length of the canine - desirable care is costly.

worm him in 2 weeks. check his gums, too. if they r pink then he's ok. if they r white that's usually an indication of worms. you may have to take him to the vet for some strong worm medicine. Good Luck!!
