I'm a Christian. I'm sorry so many have disappointed you by saying they're Christians and then they don't "walk the walk".
I'm guessing that's where you came up with the question:
"Why do so many christians hate humanity enough to wish billions of humans into hell as soon as possible?" I'm WAITING for the rapture, not wishing for it. There are too many people that are lost, three of which are my children. Some of those people are my brothers, other family members, and friends.
I know God is real. Without His love in my heart, I'd feel the same way you do. It's hard to explain, but when you hear the preached word of God and you know in your heart that you're a sinner, when you're ready to tell God that you're sorry for your sins, when your heart is broken because you realize you've been living an "ungodly" life and want to be saved, then, God will choose YOU. People can't just say "I believe" and choose God. Those that do and say they're Christians are mistaken. Sadly, there are too many that do.
God's plan will come to pass and the church will be raptured, but not because some wish for it. It will happen when God says for it to happen. I'm afraid that when it does, there are going to be a lot of folks left wondering why they weren't taken too. I'm not saying I'm "godly". I just try to be an example to those around me. I live as "Christian-like" as I can.
I pray for those that are lost and those that despise me for what I am. I pray that Gods will be done, not mine.
I hope you don't base your opinions on the way SOME people are.

I don't think you fully understand BibleElf. He is the imaginary critter that manufactures (techniques unknown) EVERYTHING that is GOOD. There's another BibleGoblin (aka Debbil, Satin, TheBigRedOne) who manufactures EVERYTHING that is BAD. To understand the difference between what is good and what is bad (Is a mosquito really REALLY bad? or does it serve a purpose - - Do red back spiders serve a purpose?) you need to fine tune the StupidKnob (this is NOT the same knob many men play with when bored). AND, it is very important that you are edumacated by the right preacher as to what is good and what is bad. I'm sorry - I just can't continue with this inanity. The whole invisible man in the sky thingie is such a childish concept I can't believe anyone over six and a half could possibly consider it true. I was seven when I first heard of the imaginary friend in the sky concept - even then I was dumb-founded that actual adults considered that was in any way a reality. It was the age I realised I was smarter than most. Do I think I'm smart cos I'm an atheist? Nah - I'm an atheist cos I'm so smart. [edit] Sweeney Todd - thanks for the Eddie Izzard reminder. I like his James Mason. ~

The rapture will not happen until after the tribulation; the tribulation will not occur until after the Antichrist is revealed; and the Antichrist will not be revealed until after every person in the world has heard about and had a chance to decide to follow Christ. Those who go to hell will do so because of their rejection of the Gospel, but I think far too many Christians have gotten absolutely lazy waiting for the rapture to happen but haven't been out showing people the love of Christ.
Note to pre-tribbers: Live as if Jesus was coming back today, but prepare yourself as if you were going to go through the tribulation. Don't just sit on your butts and hope for an early exit, because that's not what the Lord called us to do. He called us to make disciples of all nations, not watch the clock asking "Are we there yet?"
Thank you for posting this question, Orion.

Un-Godly means sinful. The rapture- is not in the bible, but the event, when studied shows something happens just before the tribulation. Something that puts Thousands upon thousands upon 10s of thousands around the throne. They are the redeemed. Only Christians are redeemed. If you truly knew God, you would want to be with him. You would hate sin and realize that everyone will not be saved. I feel very deeply for these people and cry for them often. But God is just and his judgement just. Straight and narrow is the path that leads to everlasting life, and few there be that find it. A-MEN. I didn't write the book. I just walk the walk. By the way. Laughter bothers me not. I'm willing to die for him. What bothers me is those who laugh 1 day. Then lieing in death cry out to God to save them, while I'm trying to start an I.V. And know they had thier chance. Because I know where they are going and it kills me inside.

I hope you have not chosen to stereotype all Christians in this manner. Some of us actually believe that though our religion is the true religion, other people might not see it that way. We do not believe that a true and just God would judge them according to what that person does not believe. Since I am not 'Godly' I cannot speak for God. God speaks to each person in His own time and His own way. I am confident He has spoken to you or you wouldn't be writing this. Whatever religion you are, or if you are atheist, let's be friends and respect what we both believe.

As so often happens people begin with somethng that is false and try to build on it. Dictionary.com say godly means conforming to the laws and wishes of God; devout; pious. Howbeit ungodly means 1. not accepting God or a particular religious doctrine; irreligious; atheistic: an ungodly era. 2. sinful; wicked; impious; not conforming to religious tenets or canons: an ungodly life. 3. outrageous; shocking; dreadful; insufferable: an ungodly roar; an ungodly hour to drop in. Being laughed at by ignorant, ungodly people is of no concern; God is not mocked.
Can not prove: of course not, you either believe or die in your sins (which means they are on your head instead of the Savior's). Proof does not work: Cain walked and talked with God and killed his brother. Hebrews had a pillar of fire to guide them, and manna from heaven to eat, but worshipped idols right along and after. Judas saw all Christs' miracles...........Keep thinking. God bless you.

I really don't think that Christians hate humanity at all, but in line with the bible the second coming of Christ is coming. Jesus even spoke of the second coming in Matthew, and we all know that Jesus doesn't hate humanity, came to save humanity, not some but ALL! But it is up to humanity to accept his salvation.
I want to see all saved and come to Christ, but unfortunately some will not, because with everything else he gave, he gave us freewill the power of choice...kinda like the red pill, blue pill scenario.
And as far as the "ungodly" question, heck, we are ALL ungodly. The best christian on the best day is ungodly in some way, shape or form. We sin daily and there is no way around that, but God said in his word that "if we confess our sins he (God) is faithful and just to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness." I John 1:9. No one is perfect...not even christians and if they say they are they are lying.
I also want to add...I would rather live my life as if there is a God and die and find out there is not, than to live my life as if there isn't then die and find out there is...
I hope that I shed some sort of light on what you were asking and didn't ramble too much. :-)

You have told us what Christianity is not about and I agree that many so-called Christians are not Christians at all. A true Christian believes that Christ is God - try that nitty-gritty question on them before going into problematic areas such as Revelation (without the s).

I am a Christian.
There is not one person on this earth who has never heard of Jesus. I minister to people every day, so that I may see them in Heaven because I do care.
If anyone calls them self a Christain and does not love they are a sad person.
Jesus said, "Love one another, as I have loved you."
That means that we are to be willing to die for our fellow man.
I get laughed at, and I will tell you,
I suffer persecution for my beliefs and I do it with a smile.
The bible says that Christians will be persecuted.
I continue to share with people about Jesus because I love them, and do not wish for them to perish in hell.

No idea why they hate humanity enough to wish them to hell or whatever it is that you just said right there.
Why are you asking for some kind of logic out of a Christian?
