I have been a state certified for my state for over a year now. I haven't been looking for a pharmacy job until now. Do you think it'll be hard for pharmacies to hire me since I been AWOL in the pharmacy industry for so long now.

What retail stores pays good for a pharmacy technician job? (Wal-Greens, Rite-Aid, Target, Wal-Mart, Sam's) I saw the Costco in my area was hiring and I was interested. They said to apply online but would it be better if i go and talk to the pharmacist in-person?

Why do most pharmacy tech. job requires 1-2 years exp. How do we get the exp.? The only experience I ever got is from my externship.

I really need a pharmacy job now since my current job cut my hours short.

Apply both online and talk to the pharmacy manager in person.
This is the worst time to look for pharmacy tech jobs. Don't expect to see many openings until August. Most pharmacies will train you. The positions which require experience are the senior tech positions.

All that is required to be a pharmacy technician is a HS diploma/GED and a clean criminal record. That's it. Apply at retail drugstores or supermarket pharmacies. Google "[your state] board of pharmacy" for more info.

do what the stores tell you. Talking to the pharmacist BRIEFLY can help, but only after you've applied.

Trust me on this one. I hire technicians, nobody else who will answer does.
