You know things like 1 out of 4 women get raped, although that is a huge lie and it does not end there. What do feminists hope to achieve ?

Paul of course the No1 cause for the death of pregnant women is murder. Pregnant women are not that likely to die of old age are they ? And I dont expect a woman to find out how fast her Chevy can corner at 6 months preggo eithier. Thats exactly the stuff Iam talking about. What does this statistic tell us ? Murders happen in a lot of countries of the world. Good luck doing something about it.

Very good point.
Let me give you an example. A domestic violence law was in India last year, according to which only a woman can file a case against the man. A UN report was cited saying tht 70% women in India are victims of domestic violence. Later the UN itself was forced to refute the stats.
Feminists dont want equality. In one of the research reports, the feminist researcher was "disappointed" that there was not much difference between the pay scale of a man and woman in the are she was researching in. being a feminist she should have been happy. But her aim is not equality, it is to get money !!
More false statistics = false and unrealistic claims that women are oppressed (when they are not) = more funding from Govt !!

The same reason the anti-feminists do it. Read back over some of your own questions and answers.
Numbers and statistics are manipulated all the time to fit a specific agenda. That's why critical thinking is such a valuable skill.

I'm not sure, but I think the statistic is 1 in 4 women get "sexually assaulted", which is not necessarily "rape". However, do you know what the number one cause of death is for pregnant women is? Its MURDER... maybe those feminists are trying to point out problems so we will do something about them.

You're absolutely right. The 1 out of 4 stat is BOGUS. It's rather embarrassing that they keep throwing it out there. Did you know, that in that study, seven out of ten of those "raped" women did NOT consider it rape at the time? And four out of ten had sex with their "rapist" again at a later date. Either American women are very, very, dumb, or they weren't actually raped. Why keep throwing that inaccurate number around? I don't know, but it sure makes it look as though the nation's men are waiting in a dark alley for a good opportunity, doesn't it? Shame on "feminists" who misrepresent data to suit their own agenda.
EDIT: The real percentage of women raped is between 3 and 5%. That includes an estimate for women who don't report it. If you include other forms of (forcible) sexual assault, (and attempted assaults) the number may be as high as 12%, again, with lots of room for underreporting. And you're referring to the Mary Koss, 1982 study, if anyone cares to look it up. You're Welcome. :-)

Same reason smoking marijuana causes terrorism
or that 25% of people who live in the same house as a smoker have three times the risk of lung cancer
or that recycling aluminum cans does anything for the enviroment
or that power lines cause cancer
or that TV psychics can talk to your dead relatives
PANIC they want, so you'll be AFRAID, they also type in ALL CAPS to SCARE YOU
Also, a lot of times the statistic makers are low level sheep, who don't take time to assess their statements.
You can fudge the numbers to prove anything like there's a 100% chance someones gonna give this a thumbs down

What are feminists thinking when they throw "studies" around in "women studies", and using actual data. The least they can do is make things up like you do.

This is not feminist occurrence... I read so many false statistics (and false statements and quotes) in general on this site. Try the Environment category sometime it is filled with them.

You're one to talk about false numbers and studies....you're the one who claims that "95% of all rape claims are false"...what do YOU hope to acheive by claiming that most rape victims are liars?
You're arguments are so irrational and inane I'm beginning to think you're 13 years old...and an unintelligent 13 year old, at that.

everyone does it. thats why i try to avoid statistics and studies unless i have a source that i can post, because its too easy to twist the numbers. here is an example:

Does anyone still use that stat? I figured it died with Andrea Dworkin. Since then, as far as I can tell, our statistics have been dead-on.
